More vindication for what Celtic fans and local media have thought about this series while the national media drools over Kobe.
Once again, we thought that the Lakers would struggle to guard Boston, especially Pierce, and we figured they were soft inside and we would punish him there.
**Lakers are a mediocre defensive team at best and they can't guard Paul Pierce. They can't do it. Until the crows came home I told everyone within earshot about how they are going to cover Pierce and not one person has ever responded.
**Lakers are soft and a finesse team. They are without a doubt nowhere near as physical as Detroit or Cleveland. It is like Boston is unshackled. Celts scored 108, and scored at will. They have great skill guys, but Perk, Powe and Garnett have destroyed the Lakers. The Lakers are a finesse team offensively too, and the free throw disparity is exactly about aggressiveness. Kobe was the only one going to the hoop. To be honest, bad defense leads to more foul shots. By not being physical, when you do try and be physical the refs see the difference and call a foul. The free throw disparity is about aggressiveness and physicality.
As far as what to watch out for:
**Lakers had it going in the 4th. that shows how explosive they are. If Boston isn't playing with maximum defensive effort they will get blown out of the water.
**Wow, do the Lakers whine more than any team ever? In the first game, they whined about Pierce's injury. Now it's the refs.
Did anyone ever reason that maybe the 66 win team with a plus 10 differential is perhaps the better team? Is this really a surprise? Calling Rich Bucher...
Look in the mirror lake show. You are playing soft defensively have been a sieve. You got a great offensive team. Lakers scored 40 pts in the 4th, BUT, they gave up 24 anyway.
They simply can't stop Boston. Boston would worry me in that they have a penchant for counting their chickens before they hatch. We'll see if they finally learned their lessons.

Kobe Bryant giving the refs the "Where the **** are my giveaway fouls?" look once and again was a sight to behold. Kobe (and the rest of the Lakers players) are going to get more calls their way in LA. It's the nature of the beast, and the Celtics will have to overcome it.

To be honest, I don't think they can stop Boston offensively. They may win in a shootout, certainly capable of doing that. But Boston has scored 108 and 98 points despite committing a ton of turnovers. LA has to hope their offense overpowers Boston's defense, and the Celts have a bad shooting night and commit turnovers.
