Not talking about the trade itself, but seeing this lineup, if we trade Bibby, Law will really have to come and start too show his killer instinct.
Since we have Bibby, the floor is more open, Joe has more possibilities... what we need is a 3pts touch from Marvin, a thing Miller can bring, but if we loose it on the PG...
Law/Joe/Miller could still be better than what we have before the Bibby trade on these three starting spots, but better than Bibby/Joe/Marvin ?

I would bet that Portland would prefer to include Jack to Sergio. Sergio has higher PG upside and Jack is a decent PG/combo backup.

Outside of that, it does leave us weak at PG although Jack would probably be more serviceable in the short term. Taking on Cardinal's salary is rough, but it's down to only 2 years now. I'm wondering if we could combine Frye and Zaza's expiring deals + whichever young PG we pick up to try and acquire a more experienced PG like Hinrich or Ford (maybe not right away, but by trade deadline at worst). If we could parlay expiring deals for a realitively experience PG then the lineup begins to look real good.

Not my favorite deal I've read so far, but not bad at all. I didn't add up our contracts though to see the implications of the overall deal on free agency though.

So, for the right to trade Marvin for Miller, we give away Bibby's contract (which, since it's ending, is a plus) for MEM's contract problems?

What exactly is the advantage?
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Getting Sergio, and Frye.

Regarding a trade with POR, lots of POR's fans were agreeing to Marvin for Jack+Webster last summer, and Webster has better long range shot than Marvin.

I'd do that trade all day.We would still have to find someone to take Bibby though.
