Just like the Laker trolls on the Celtics board. As others have said, if you don't like it don't read it and don't ruin our threads with your garbage. This will be your only warning. Thank you. canman

I do humbly apologize for giving my opinion. I thought that was what the message boards were all about. I certainly hope our boards are also censoring the way you are.

But... how do you back-up Det. being better then SA?

It's been scientifically proven under laboratory conditions by the finest specialists with the most noteworthy credentials and overwhelmingly scrupulous levels of pure empirical excellence.

For further details the nice folks on the Detroit board will be happy to help out.

Thank you for your comments John. You are cordially invited to come over to the light side and join us in green bliss.

The point here is, the Celtics have already BEGUN to play well in the playoffs...

...and that when they do play well, no one can beat them.

(And Thanks!! to everyone else.)

Gant....my post actually wasnt meant as a slight against you....its just that the info has been posted many times and its old (on both sides can we agree?)

Its time to play the series.

It is not censoring, actually I deleted what you said by accident, but felt no need to put it back. The point is Gant, who needs no defending, has been doing this all season, puts a lot of time into it and is probably the best thing written on any board on RealGM and I beg anyone to find anything better. Whether you meant it or not is irrelevant, it was a put down. Laker trolls have been around as have Celtic ones on the Laker board and both board mods are not going to put up with any crap. That is why I gave you an informal warning. If you can't be respectful, keep your opinion on the Laker board.

Yeah I mean they beat a team that plays no D and doesn't listen to their coach (Denver), a team that is too reliant on the J and whose best player was in a slump (Utah) and also, and an aging, banged-up, slow, plodding defending champ team who was robbed of a game by the refs on their home floor. Lakers look like worldbeaters to me!

Celtics in 6. Count on it, and **** you.

Interesting how there are excuses as to why you got taken to 7 twice and 2 6.....and also excuses as to why the "soft" lakers put a beat down on pretty much allof their oponents all with over 50 wins?

Its alright man...your a fan. You are not supposed to be objective.

Canman.....while it is true I have not been here before these finals....check my posts. Nothing but good things to say about Boston or the Boston celtics. Mostly just replying to derogatories about the lakers.

I have no need to check your posts. I am only referring to the one you made here. If you had some kind of history of warnings, I would not have given you an informal warning. Feel free to post, contribute to the discussion, but remember this is a Boston board. If we want talk about the same thing over and over, we can. You have the right not to read it or post. But don't come here and tell us that everything we say is "oh the Celtics will win, even though they haven't played well" and "the Lakers will lose, even though they have won this or that." Go start a thread on the Laker board; I am sure they'd love it.

C'mon buddy, if we all went over to the Laker's board and replied to every derogatory thing said about the Celtics this would be an all out flame war. That's why there's a board for each team's fans, we're all biased towards our teams. If you had no feelings at all towards either team you'd see that for every ridiculous statement you find here you'll find one there also. So you can quit with the "good soldier sticking up for my team crap", it's BS. I go over there and read crap and I get mad (especially about the knocks on Red that I've seen, I mean WTF?) but I keep my opinions here to avoid turning every topic into another trash talk thread, which is fun for a while, but really kills every thread in the end.

Back to the topic, every year when the West has the best record for #1 and #2, the Western Conference finals are the 'real finals'.

This year?

You can hear the insects chirping as the pundits leave that bandwagon and jump on to the new justification (this year it is that Kobe is the best player, and best players win).

I do agree that the argument that the Lakers will win because they have the best player is bunk, but this Laker team/supporting cast is MUCH better then that Cavs team...I actually feel that both Finals teams this year are better then both finals teams last year...I think either one would have beaten the Spurs...this will be a great series I have no doubt.

The Celtics are 5-0 this year against the Lakers and Spurs. One game was without Rondo and one game was without Garnett.

I'm not confident they can win without Pierce though.

It may be true that individually, the Lakers have better role players around Kobe than Cleveland had around Lebron, but they still share similar characteristics, in that number one: They don't have a dynamic scorer capable of creating his own offense. A lot of Gasol's baskets come off either jumpers, open layups created by the attention Bryant gets, or offensive rebounds. The same with Odom. He's not a bad offensive player, but not someone you can give the ball to and create his offense--also you have to factor Garnett is covering him, so the task becomes that much harder. And number 2: The Cavs' as a defensive unit was simply more physical and more cohesive as a unit, which obviously gave Boston tons of trouble. LA can defend, but I'm not sure they can be as physical as Cleveland was, and they certainly don't rebound as well as Cleveland did in the series. And 3: Outside of Kobe, they don't have a great primary ballhandler/distributor, just like Cleveland lacked. This could favor Boston heavily, as it tasks Kobe Bryant to take the task of both areas as well as being the leading scorer; considering how well Boston has handled those situations defensively, you have to like their chances.

Ultimately, it comes down to the same situation as Cleveland, in that we're going to need to see multiple super-human efforts from their top player if they're going to come out on top in the series.
