Thats a whole lot of ignoring.
I saw the whole season. The only difference in the times is his mid range J falling. At times it was automatic,at times it was averge,at times it was horrible but none of what I saw made me think he was a good player.

I agree with CWell. Marvin's shooting percentage wasn't bad as Rip said, but his scoring dropped drastically after the first two months of the season. He stopped being agressive again and looked tentative again. Until I see Marvin give us a nice body of work over an entire season I won't have much confidence in him.

2 months? You mean 3, right? He had a bad february, and despite what you guys want to say, he had a good March and April.

He was turned into midrange shooter guy that is the outlet for Joe after Bibby got here. before, he was wing Iso guy that could go to the lane.

Its odd to me how people want to praise Joe so much and say that Bibby allowed him to play better, but pretend that adding Bibby and his 10+ shots a night wouldn't effect anyone else on the court. Marvin was that guy. If tentative is shooting 49 percent from the field in March then i will take that. The only thing that changed throughout the year with Marvin was his FTA. And that cut in half EXACTLY when bibby got here. (he was 6.7 attempts in January, his terrible month, but he still was going to the rim) As soon as bibby got here he was at 3.5.

There is a OBVIOUS reason why his scoring output dropped off, but people don't want to admit it because its Marvin and he is held to this other worldly level because we passed up on a MVP candidate to get him. If Boris Diaw had become a MVP candidate, I am sure people would be looking at Joe not playing well until March alot harder.

I am not saying he doesn't need work, but to say he is a bad player and looked horrible, like I said before, requires you to completely ignore most of the season.

If he plays well for another team, however, they can say it proves them right that he couldn't be the same player for us.

Short of getting a superior big man or PG, there's no good reason to trade Marvin.

This is a little ridiculous. The vast majority of us are open to trading him because he is average, doesn't look like he will ever be a star, and is young enough to have some value still.

No one here wants to trade him because we are worried that he'll be good. That is (Please Use More Appropriate Word), we are all Hawks fans here and the best thing that could happen is Marv becoming something other than a soft, inconsistent, near-average player.

If we shop him and no one is willing to give us a good offer, keep him. If someone is willing to trade a player who looks like he fits better, trade him.

Also, why is he called "Marvelous"?
