What Do You Think The Games Will Be Like In L.A...

Put your biases to the side for this one...lol

Do you think the Celtics will perform like they did against Detroit on the road or like they did against Cleveland and Atlanta?

I hope the games out there don't have that feel, where its like no matter what we do...theres no way to win. I hate those kind of games.

**do you think Kobe will be able to go off in L.A.?

I would say like we played in Det, you have to expect LA to play better but hopefully our D will be enough for us to win atleast 1 maybe even 2 in LA. Lets pray PP has his usual LA performance.

Oh yeah L.A. is going to be aggressive because they have to respond with a big punch. But I agree with you, this is the finals. I would think Boston would play the right way on the road in the finals.

I expect us to play the way we did in Detroit. I also expect the reffing to be reminscent of the 2002 WCF between the Lakers and Kings and the Finals in 2006 where Wade was handed the series at the line. But as long as we don't let the 8 on 5 take us out of our game, we'll win.

Celts won't even remember the Atlanta and Cleveland series. You have three guys here who ran for the leagues best record in the season, boosted quite a bit by their motivation. You have three guys who, starting from blank page, failed to deliver for the longest time in the playoffs and it was only under do-or-die when they delivered in game 7's. You have those three guys now in the finals, with 2-0 lead, needing only 2 wins to bring home the trophy and cement their status in the history of the league. Never before has there been a team of three beloved veterans of the league who come from no-playoffs teams, united under the green flag and reach this point.

While I would love to see these three finish this in Boston, I fear this will be settled in LA.

Victory, KG, take it. I've not wanted to see a group of players win a title this strong since MJ in 98. It has a sense of history in it. You know these finals will be remembered before they are over, and you don't get to say that very often. I mean, I love Kobe, but that guy will outlast this desperate trio. He will have his chance to shine, but not in this series, not against these three. Not today.

I think we'll win one of 3, but the Lakers will be much tougher at home. You know they will be fired up and they will come out strong. The important thing is to try and take the crowd out of it because the crowd can energize a team to play better/tougher D, make more hustle plays, etc.

The scary thing is this. We all know how incredibly skilled Kobe is. We've seen flashes of Gasol's ability to dominate on offense. We've seen flashes of Lakers' supporting cast making some shots and score very quickly.

For the most part, our defense was able to keep everyone under control, except maybe Gasol at times. However, we gotta make sure we keep it up because once they get going, it'll open it up for everyone.

Man, LA is going to be HELL. Remember this. The Refs are going to give EVERY call to the Lakers and Kobe is going to be untouchable. If the wind blows too hard on him, the refs are going to call foul. Same for Pau Gasol. Perkins is going to foul out of 2 of the 3 games. I'm hoping we can STEAL one game and close the series out in 6. I don't want to see a game 7.

I just DO NOT expect even remotely close play calling in the first 2 games. The league needs this thing to go 6 games so that the Network can get it's money back and IT WILL. The play calling is going to be historically bad.

I'd be hoping for a split, personally. L.A. is going to take at LEAST one of these games.

And as Ant noted, the refs are not going to be favorable to the Celtics in Tinseltown.

A split and then closing things out in Boston would be nice.

I agree, as I said in another post, the look-in foul will be used here, especially when Kobe has the ball.

I think we'll drop game 3 and win either 4 or 5 to come back to Boston up 3-2. Of course I'd be thrilled if we won this in 4 or 5 out in LA!!

The games should be somewhat quieter, if the Staples Center crowd gets too boisterous they know they may end up spilling their caviar on themselves. That would be sad.

One thing that might help. GET PAUL PIERCE AWAY FROM KOBE. If Pierce gets in foul trouble we're going to find ourselves losing in double digits. Doc needs to do whatever he has to do to keep Pierce away from Kobe. The offense needs to run through Pierce the same way they did in Cleveland. Let Pierce have the rock at the top and make plays. They expect us to let it flow through Rondo, so surprise them and run everything through Pierce. Keep the ball in his hand and it's actually possible that the refs will have no choice but to give him free throws. Kobe cannot guard Paul, so I'd make it a point to attack Kobe with Pierce. If they're going to make bogus calls, then make them OBVIOUSLY steal the game.

Everyone knows how Pierce plays in LA. It's like... it's his second Home. If you KEEP the ball in his hands in LA, I guarantee at least one win. "MAYBE 2". This is really his dream. Playing in LA close to his actual neighborhood with a chance to finally TAKE the respect he's worked all these years for. I give him the chance to bump himself to Legendary status.

Here is what I see for the next game:

Lakers get to the line more than the Celtics (+10 more FTs)
Refs get key Celtic players in foul trouble (my bet is KG)
Lakers get the win

Its just the way it is with NBA refs and home court teams. Pretty sad.

The Celtics won't even have to worry about playing in front of a full crowd until after halftime or so, so it's all good!

The Celtics are going to get jobbed by the Refs in LA, but LA is not going to have the atmosphere that Detroit or Atlanta had. I went to all the Atlanta games, that place was rocking.
