Pats and Sox but why no B's?

In other words, you see players and coaches from both the Patriots and Red Sox attending Celtics games this season in support of their fellow local franchise. Is the lack of Bruins representation due in part to their players are mostly foreign and indifferent about the sport of basketball? I don't know. I thought it was nice to see the somewhat unity between the three local franchises, albeit in a bandwagon manner. I just wonder if this widens the gap between the Bruins and the Big Three (Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox) in Boston/New England.

Any thoughts?

I am sure they would love to see signs saying, the big three: redsox, patritos, and celtics. Haha. It would probably be annoying.

Who knows though, they should show up, many of the guys live right in the north end or very close to the garden.

Patrice Bergeron would get a huge ovation if he were to be shown at the garden jumbotron.

Actually, I believe it was this year, the bruins team did show up for a game and played basketball beforehand, as well as participating in other activities.

Yeah, but wouldn't you think that the Celtics and Bruins are like siblings in a way since they do occupy the same arena building. Then too, how many hockey games have Pierce or Rivers attended?

The only celeb I saw attend a hockey game, was Daisuke. And I think the Sox made him. The sox owners are hockey fans, at least I think.

I am sure some might be there, they are not just as recognizable on the big screen. I mean the bruins have some players that were born in mass, I doubt they wouldn't go to a game.

I would rather watch a good game of poker.. When hockey almost died a couple years ago , i was soooo happy.. I applauded their misery. I will never change. Been this way for 33 years. I hope hockey dwindles into the dulldroms of B level sports.

I'm only a casual hockey fan so idk what their offseasons generally consist of. Are there offseason leagues in Canada (like the winter league in the DR for baseball) or pickup game/tournament hotspots (Like in basketball)?

With the Pats starting camp and the Sox playing you know these guys are in town but I dont know what the Bruins are up to.

Also, the national broadcast isn't gonna show any hockey players anyway unless it's a Gretzky or a Crosby. Sox and Pats players are assured some camera time cause they got rings on their fingers. And besides the Bruins not having any players of national interest, ESPN has been doing their best to cockblock the NHL since they jumped ship to VS.

the bruins dont have an owner that lives here. it makes all the difference in the world. the celtics, pats, and sox (the sox have many owners but the core of the management team can be found locally) all have local ties.

Most of the Bruins aren't in town. But Ray Bourque, Zdeno Chara, Shawn Thornton, Peter Chiarelli (Bruins GM), and others have been spotted at the games. They're just not considered "celebrities" by the media so you don't hear too much about them.

You're wrong there. The younger generation is much more interested in bball than hockey, its just the older generation that cant get their heads around watching a new sport besides curling and other **** canadian sports because theyre hard headed idiots. Its frustrating, which is why i dont watch any of the canadian sports tv channels because its pathetic here besides when they watch bball.

And most of the posters over 18 on the board know basketball, its just summertime and the schoolkids come in with half of their posts either being one liners or some stupid trade theyd post trying to be funny. I'm sure itll get like that here too after the finals, just the way it is.

I think people just don't give a crap about hockey. As someone earlier said, where does hockey really rank in your personal favorite sport? I doubt hockey cracks the top 5 for most people and people don't really follow every single sport out there.

For me personally, I follow baseball and basketball the most. Then European soccer. Then football, tennis, or whatever. Hockey doesn't even make my list and I'm sure most people are the same way.

A lot of the B's players are foreigners, both Canadian and European. Very few make their summers in New England. Finally, unlike the stars of baseball, football, and basketball, most NHL stars are not immediately recognizable, nor may they be interested in floor seats- Garden owner Jeremy Jacobs may lend them a luxury box for privacy.

I'm sure that a few guys at least, whether we know it or not, have been to the C's playoff games.
