Roster Moves

With the mavs only having 7 players under contract next season, I believe they should re sign Antoine Wright, Tyronne Lue, JJB, and Devean George. Eddie Jones has a player option and I do not see him coming back unless the mavs want to sign and trade him, and then maybe eddie will do this if the team will buy him out. We also have Reyshawn Terry and Renaldas Seibutis if we want to move them up on the roster. Also we let go of Pops Mensah-Bonsu last year and I think he is someone that could help out our team at some point. He is a similar mold of Brandon Bass with a little more athleticism but less talent of the game. He could be someone we throw out there for some energy or maybe he can come in with Kidd and help run the break. For the roster players, I believe atleast one of them will be moved, even if its not for much in return. So there's not much telling who will be moved but we can always have fun and guess. As much as I want Josh Howard to get traded I don't see the mavs doing that this off season, I believe we will probably package stackhouse with someone and depending on who we could get in return it might be Brandon Bass (only because his stock is extremely high at the moment). As the finals come to a close, more rumors will start to leak out and we will have more deals to talk about. At this time we can only wait and create our own.

What's scary is that sounds a lot like what I would have written but didn't. Nice work dtown, glad to have you on the forum. You put your thoughts together well.

I dont really see the point of re-signing JJB... I fully expect Howard to get dealt though.

Agree...no sense signing both Barea and Lue unless it is a S&T.

I think Howard and Bass will be traded since they are our best trade pieces outside of Kidd and Dirk.

Signing JJB doesn't mean that he will be on the active roster or play, but he is someone we know that we can get for a minimum and he is somewhat proven here. I was never big on him but there isn't too much out there at pg that would fill a bigger role that him.

I believe Lue could have played a much bigger part in our horrible playoff series if he had not been injured. Lue had a very good stint with the mavs but never really got much playing time with Avery. He is someone that can help this team out and be a solid defender at guard.

I believe if anyone from our team will get traded it will start with Stackhouse, then Bass, then Howard. Yes there have been rumors and everyone in Dallas wants him gone, but I believe Howard will still be here. Cuban will not just give Howard away for another teams scrubs.

I believe the player the mavs will go after the hardest will be Jason Richardson. I know Howard fits a similar role as Gerald Wallace but I believe Larry Brown will move both Richardson and Wallace, so this leaves an opening for Howard.

Watch for the mavs to offer Howard and Eddie or a sign and trade of another player if Eddie doesn't accept his option to go after Richardson.

I'd offer Terry for Richardson, but not Howard.

i would rather give up terry than howard but you have to give up talent to get any in return and terry isnt going to be traded to start for the bobcats. For some reason mavs fans overrate josh howard and overrate terry. Yes they are both good players but howard is similar to richardson, both are close to all star talent but not quite to that level. Jason Terry is not close to all star caliber. you can't trade terry who has a horrible contract to a player much better with a bad contract as well. If we trade Terry the mavs would have to include Bass and maybe take back a Jared Dudley.

What about Terry, Howard and Bass for Richardson, Wallace and Carroll?

Mavs may consider it a deal but the bobcats wouldn't.

Howard will definitely get dealt. But no one really knows to who. Haha. Maybe Pacers again would pop up into the picture. You never know.
