you can have those experiences in any city. im not saying we are perfect, but people look for things based on history. and i could bring up several testimonials of black, cape verdean, asian, whatever friends ive known my whole life that havent had these issues people talk about.

Your right but everyone knows Boston has a racist history. To be honest it's a stunning city with a lot of great people. I'm black but I have a lot of Irish and Italians friends from that city.

Just because your friends have been lucky enough not to experience what many others have, it doesn't mean the city isn't racist. I have been to many cities in the South. Atlanta, many towns in GA, went to the all-star game in New Orleans, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, etc.. and I had great times down there. The people weren't racists and I never felt uncomfortable. I have even been overseas to countries like Germany and Belgium and I got treated with amazing respect. I'm not one to complain about racism in America (I feel this is the best country in the world with very open minded people). I just feel Boston is the only racist major city in the USA. No offense to non racist people in that city.

It's on the low end of progressiveness of all the major cities. Yes, it's better than your average city in South Dakota. Props.
