Odom makes t-shirts w/ "Boston Sucks Since 1946"

Post#1 » by slickgreek » Tue Jun 10, 2008 4:49 am

Odom, whose Lakers team trails the Celtics two games to none in the NBA Finals, has teamed up with the Los Angeles high-end sneaker store, Undefeated, to produce a T-shirt featuring the message "Boston Sucks."

The T-shirt, printed in the Lakers's colors, has the words "Boston Sucks Since 1946" printed on the front with a "U-Man" image . The back of the shirt has "Team Odom 7" printed on it.

Not trying to stir up any problems, but found it interesting that Odom went this far to make the shirts...

LOL this is pretty halirious, the funniest thing I heard all day. Classic Odom. But at the same time it is a head scratcher, this goes right up there with his Ray Allen tackle back in December. Just like this incident, it was funny but very confusing as in why did you do that for?

So yes, why did Odom do this for? We are 2 games away from finishing 2nd place and possibly 3 days away from being swept if Odom just woke them up even more. This would be a lot better if we were on the verge of winning the title not losing it.

I think Odom should worry about Odom sucking first before he starts talking smack.

btw Lamar, Artest is sounding pretty good right about now at the SF.

Well, I don't think the level of Odom's involvement is clear. He's not selling the shirt, "Undefeated" is. Who designed it? Not clear. Part of the proceeds go to Lamar's charity, "Cathy's kids."

Maybe Lamar designed it himself, finger-painting with his poo.

Or, Maybe "undefeated" called up his people and asked if they could use his name in exchange for charity donations.

I doubt Lamar has that kind of spite for Boston. Seems more in line with the usual t-shirt company gags.

im going to assume the process of making those t-shirts started long before lakers went down 0-2 or even 0-1.

Undefeated has a lot of exclusive shoes such as Nike dunks...asics...pumas...etc. Nice shoes btw but most are pretty expensive.

The article really doesnt explain it well, but I mean I know Kobe wouldnt have made that shirt...I just think it might have been Odoms idea..

Kobe wouldn't have ok'ed that shirt because he controls his image very tightly. And also because of his contract with Nike, probably.

Odom? Dude seems pretty chill in every sense of the word. I think he'd lend his name if it helps his charity.

Did he know it would say "boston sucks?" I don't know. I don't see him coming up with the idea because he's a non-confrontational dude. He doesn't say anybody sucks, let alone other cities. He doesn't talk smack.

That being said, I would probably buy one just for the irony.

I doubt Odom was the one drilling the "Boston sucks" message to the heads of Undefeated.

If I had to guess, i'd say Odom just does this for the charity, not becose he truly believes Boston sucks or any of that.

Not sure why everyone gets uptight with these things. It is just a t-shirt, Odom is having fun. Just some good ol'fashioned rivalry. No need to be "politically correct".

Good move Odom, now you need to make sure you stand behind the meaning of that T!

Go Lakers.

This sounds like something I was going to do, but just for me and not on a massive scale. It would read "Beat LA?" on the front then on the back..."F*** Boston!" Kinda like the make 7/up yours shirts, but in purple and gold instead.

hahaha could you imagine if Staples erupted with everyone chanting "F*** Boston!" ? I'd love to see how abc/espn would try and censor and do commentary at the same time.

Some out here will try to say it's billboard material and who knows, Doc may very well do that.

I say...who cares? We've been yelling Yankees Suck for ages so we really can't complain and it's going to a good cause so it's all good.
