wow, a similar thread was made about wade and it was laughed at.
If wade isn't HOF, the paul certainly isn't
Is Paul Pierce a Hall of Famer if he retired at seasons end?

This is up there for most ridiculous things I have ever read.
Well when you think about it, can you think of any hall of famer who was as chubby as Pierce is, in his prime? I can't. Sorry I'm just looking at the facts. History says no to Pierce in the hall.

i think if Boston wins the Championship, he's got a better argument than Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady.....they may be better scorers, but they've had better teams too, and they've never been past the second round and first round
Paul Pierce led his team to the Conference Finals in 2002, and lost to New Jersey....many other borderline HOF's can't say the same thing
so a Championship, and what's looking like a Finals MVP means he has a very good chance of getting in...
any future accolades will only propel his chances, and further separate him from the borderlines into the locks

Carter will get in, just by being the best dunker ever.
He is a nice player anyway, right on the level of Paul Pierce.
Hopefully he will get the chance to play on a squad with quality players, like Pierce did, and then he could prove himself as a winner too.
But VC is HOF bound for being best dunker ever.
EDIT:
I'm forgetting the Olypic Gold from Sydney, when VC was the best player on the US squad.
Americans should learn to respect Olympic golds in basketball, since 2000 might be their last win for a very long time.
This year and 2012 are Spain's to lose IMO.

As for the topic title, Paul Pierce will be a Hall of Famer, no question about it.
If he would retire after this season, (which he won't do
), there are 3 scenarios
-they win it all this year, with him as MVP -> HOF
-they win it with KG (or Jesus) as MVP -> probably HOF
-they lose it (won't happen either) -> he might be left out, but I say he is in even then.
With Wade, it'sa different story, because he hasn't played enough seasons. If he retired today, it's about 30% that he gets left out, but his Finals MVP says to me, that he gets in anyway
Is Ralph Sampson a hall of famer? I don't know where to look up. If he is i, Wade is of course bound to get there.

Of course we're talking about the NBA HOF so I'm sure he'll get in.
Someone compared PP to D. Wilkens. DW made the 1st team once, 2nd team 4X and the 3rd team twice.
There was less competition during Wilkins' time though. Less teams=less players.
Last season, the Celtics started their 18-game losing streak immediately as Pierce got injured. He comes back, and they had a 5-game winning streak shortly after he returned. This included a victory in San Antonio. He may not have the impact Lebron has on a team and he'll never be in a GOAT discussion, but he is a big part of why Boston was 7-2 without Garnett and does help his team tremendously. It's amazing how underrated he is.

A) Thinking I'm a Celtics fan because I'm calling the Laker fans who are whining what they are: whiners. The same kind of whiners Laker fans have made fun of Kings, Blazers, Spurs, and Suns fans for being. I've already said I'm a Bulls fan.
Why are you attacking me Farm AID.............

From the looks of it, you know with all your 71 posts and hanging on the Cs sack leads me to believe your a Cs fan.
You know why?
You can tell by all your insults to every Laker fan. I actually find that extremely amusing .

And you do....

You critisize my spelling, yet lets take a look at this post ... "All I know is everyone of the posts of yours I've read are horrible"

So much for grammar skills .... But then again this isn't english 101, its a Basketball board, and I think a 5 year can do a lot better than "All I know is everyone of the posts of yours I've read are horrible"

I'm so surprised they haven't made you a mod yet, since you have so much skills.
