And how can anyone pronounce a series over after winning 2 games at home? Um ... Atlanta says hi.

I guess you don't like reading much, because I feel most posters on the Cs board don't feel that the series is over. Most feel they just need to take one in LA to bring it back to Boston. After all the Laker nutwashers basically were giving them the championship before the series even began, and now the Cs are up 2-0. Yes, they protected homecourt, but I feel most felt it would be 1-1, hence the excitement. But, by no means, do any rational posters/fans feel this series is over. Just read a bit.

Well, I think the Lakers mishandled the refs. Whining doesn't help especially from a player.

Pierce got a tacky call against him and he just took it like a man. He deferred and acknowledged the refs authority.

Kobe whined, Perk whined and they got a few more.

I have many kids and nothing irrationally pisses me off more than whining. They start whining and I make it my mission in life to establish my authority. The hair is up on the back of my neck.

Doc is absolutely right to tell the players to play the game and let Doc handle the refs.

Players should play the game and get back on defense after a unfavorable call.

Here's an idea for the Lakers...instead of bitching like little schoolgirls about the refs, PLAY! But even there the C's are better!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I've been on Real GM for 5 years and had 3 separate accounts.

I'm the one that argued incessantly with Celtic fans that the C's should trade Al Jefferson for KG. I'd say easily 85% of the C's Forum boards were anti that trade.

I'm speaking to you as a Sox fan. Show some humility. Don't pretend like Game 2 wasn't a jobbing by the refs. Why don't you read Simmons? He agrees completely. I'm willing to accept it ... hey, that's why you win during the regular season so that you can get home court "advantage" not just home court.

The Celtics won straight up in game 1. And they were given a victory in game 2. They're not the first team to receive preferential treatment from the refs, and they certainly won't be the last.

Be happy that your team got the treatment. Don't get defensive and call it pay back for all the calls that the Lakers got over the years (you're still bringing up Sacramento?). That's a sign of sports ignorance.

I agree with you ... all the so-called pundits that picked the Lakers in 4 or 5 clearly weren't watching basketball all season. The finals are new to both these teams.

Sit back and enjoy this thing ... because it's going to go 7 and hopefully spark a new rivalry for these two teams moving forward.

And stop acting like d-bag Yankees fans.

I did not mean to insinuate that you were a new poster, and I apologize for coming off that way if I did. I just meant, that the posters whose knowledge I respect and feel is rational are certainly not proclaiming the series over. I do agree there are some who act like fools and try to be "arrogant" or whatever, but I ignore those unless I am handing out warnings.

I love the Sox, but that night would pale in comparison to the joy I'll feel if the Celtics win the title. Even up 2-0, I still can't imagine it.

I appreciate the response. But there has been an overwhelming number of Celtics fans (even all my friends out here in LA) that have been acting like complete d-bags. Maybe I underestimated the fire that still burns in this rivalry? But still ... it's coming off like pent up anger from the last 20 years while the purple and gold have remained mostly legitimate. I get it. But it doesn't need to be anger ... there's such a thing as gamesmanship.

This is the NBA. The other team/fans have a rite of passage to blame the refs. If someone can't live with that--then there's really no reason for them to continue watching basketball. It will always be a part of the sport.

It's Phil's JOB to use the post game press conference to manipulate the next game. I thought he was going to try and get to KG by saying some outlandish thing like Powe is outplaying him in this series!

^^Maybe we Celtics fans wouldn't be so bitter if the league hadn't done it's best to keep us down the last 20 years...I could list a number of ways we were treated differently from EVERY OTHER team in the league, something Red Auerebach predicted would happen even back in the 1960s, but everyone on here knows, so I won't belabor the point.

WTF are you talking about? I lived through the Lakers three-peat and they got all the calls back then. And I MEAN IT! ALL THE CALLS! Game 6 of the 2002 WCFs anyone? Game 3 of the 2003 WC first round? Game 7 of the 2000 WCFs? And now when they on the other side of the bargain for ONCE, somehow all the hell breaks loose? Please... Celtics got the calls in Game 2, I admit it. And it made that win so much better. Oh yes, nothing beats the look on Kobe's face when he was looking at the ref, after his second foul. Welcome to the life of a non-Laker team, sucker! Karma's a bitch, ain't it? This is for all the fans: Portland, Minnesota, Sacramento and others from back then. How ya like it now, LA fans?
