Should we consider Tom T for coach
Although I am in a win now mode. "Should we consider Tom T of the Celtics as a coaching option. I am amazed that the teams with openings are not waiting for the finals to be over to interview him. With that said, this guy for at least two games devised a plan to slow down the best player in the league and has slowed the second best player (LBJ).
This guy intrigues me more than arguing over Josh Boone. One of Lfrank shortcomings is that he cannot get this group to defend. what could he do for us?

Tom Thibodeau would be my dream pick as a coach. I've said it long before it became a bandwagon thing to say.
I am happy that the Knicks, Bulls and other teams are tired of waiting for him; it just leaves more of an opportunity for us to swoop in and get him!
Does anyone have a clue on Frank's contract/buyout situation?

Personally, I'm almost positive this is a make or break year for Frank. This past season he got a free pass due to the Kidd saga weighing the team down. The 2 years before that, he got free passes because we had a lot of injuries and still made the playoffs. I think the team is a little jaded now and they're giving Frank this season to work out the kinks and at least put a playoff team on the floor. If we make the playoffs, he keeps his job. That's just my 2 cents.
Although as much as I don't like it, I keep having the creepy feeling that Jeff Van Gundy is gonna be our next coach. Marc Jackson is on that list too but I think we're gonna go with an established name coach. I doubt we hire an assistant with little head coaching experience (even though TT is a defensive guru right now). Van Gundy is an above average coach knows how to handle the New York media. We're gonna go with someone like that.

Frank is one slow start or 5 game losing streak from losing his job.
IMO I dont think that slow start $hit is going to work this year.

Let's hope that TT either for some reason is unemployed if that situation happens then. It's almost impossible to steal an assistant during the season. Basically would make my fear of Jeff Van Gundy become a reality. Only thing I like about Jeff is that he doesn't coddle the star players. He'll rip you like he rips a rookie.

Personally speaking, I think based on the future concerns of this team it would be a great idea to pulled the trigger on Frank now. I mean this guy has PP playing good defense KG has something to do with it.
With a strong PF or center I wonder what he could do with our team.

I agree 100%. It just sucks that our front office (not bashing them cause I love them in everything they do...except with Frank) is still so supportive of him. If we want TT and he's not scooped up this offseason (unlikely now thank god to all the new hires), we're gonna have to wait until next season. I personally would rather suck this season and bitch about Frank, get the lottery pick again and TT rather than fire Frank midseason, hire the best available coach who isn't working and try to turn things around.

Don't want T.T as our coach we don't have good defensive players we need an offensive minded coach the way our roster is constructed .
Frank is an defensive minded coach when the team had good defenders we where decent but now we don't have much defenders so a defensive minded coach without much idea on O is a bad idea.

I dont agree wih that, Flip Saunders an offensive minded coach three years EC finals. No Wins!!!!!!!
Doc Rivers best defensive team this year NBA finals.
Defense wins championships and the core players we have can get it done.

Lakers don't play defense. They're not horrible, but they're nowhere near the best in the West in terms of defense. They just got the KOBE factor.
I agree though, I've always been a defensive minded guy first and foremost. I just think the next Nets coach is definitely gonna be a guy with ample head coaching experience instead of who would actually fit the team.
I do agree with whoever said it though that we're having a slight transition from a strong defensively minded team. I'm not gonna cast any judgment though till pre-season starts and I see our roster.

Not with this team's expectations. Most "experts" picked us out or at the highest 7th seed last year. With Kidd gone and if the Nets suck this year, Thorn could just say he's doing the best with what's been given to him. Nets make the playoffs this year, Thorn will say he exceeded expectations with what's been given to him. It's a double-edged sword with both sides pointing to Nets fans.

The difference between Frank and Thibodeau is that Tom can get very good defense out of poor defensive players. THAT"S what makes excellent defensive teams, which is what TT would do.
Have you seen House lately? Name one time he looked as defensively active on the Nets as he is now. And this is a veteran we're talking about, who has plied his trade almost exclusively based on his offense.
How do you know Tom has no ideas on offense? I don't either, but I'm not going to speculate and use that as a reason to nix him. The fact is, Thibodeau is practically a defensive genius; that doesn't mean he's an offensive numbskull. Even if he were rather ordinary as a coach on that side of the ball, I can't imagine he'd be worse than
"OK, here's what we're going to do. We'll base our offense around our 3rd best player, limiting our 1st- and 2nd-best players strengths. Then, we'll bring in shooters who I haven't trained to shoot worth a darn, and slow down the pace to the point where our offensive faults become as bold as Braille.Sound good? LET'S GO! Wait, guys, reach lower so I can high-five you."
