Knee Story = Finals MVP

Post#1 » by Mikchek » Mon Jun 9, 2008 3:02 am

Pierce has been playing great but I think even if Ray Ray or KG step up and Kill...as long as Paul Pierce plays decent because of that knee Story he will get Finals MVP....what do you guys think?

I thnik its Pierce too, since he was the longest suffering Celtic, and his play, particularly in the fourth quarter, has been the difference.

Im so glad to see Leon Powe succeeding in the NBA. I had the chance to meet him a few years ago when he sat out with the injury at Cal, really good cat. With that said, so far Pierce.

I think Pierce was thinking about Finals MVP when he threw himself to the floor. What a sham. He didn't want to compete with KG for it.

KG's getting robbed again. It's a league-wide conspiracy!

I don't think it's a conspiracy...lol.........but I do think KG is getting Robbed. Without him.....this team has NO DEFENSE! He anchors it. And what about when KG lit the lakers up in the first half the other night. Didn't he have like 15 in the first half? Combine that with his rebounding and his defense........No other choice.

I'd obviously love to see KG win it, I'd be happy with any Celtic winning it. Pierce has been the best player in the series so far.

For once, I agree with Casey.

Pierce has been the best player in this series.

the knee thing was a joke, but pierce would be the front-runner right now regardless. if kg's shots were dropping a little better, I think he'd be the mvp, but you can't ignore pierce's big-time 3's.

KG's been good (especially in the first half of games..), but Pierce has been the clear cut MVP for the Celtics so far with his clutch play. (And the knee thing was real. Paul Pierce is not the type of player who would fake something like that. He's just not.)

PP
25 PPG
4 RPG (0 offensive boards)
61% from the field

KG
21 PPG
13.5 RPG (7 total Offensive boards)
40% from the field

THe points is not a big discrepency. I will agree that PP has been better from the field, obviously with his 61% shooting from the field. I guess I tend to value defense/rebounding/and the guy that they are playing against. KG has been the leading rebounder in both games by AT LEAST 3 boards. He's up there battling with Pau and to me just looks more impressive. Sure the 3's and the FG % look great for PP. I'm not debating PP has been spectacular, but personally I think people tend to undervalue KG's game because he's not out there putting up 25 PPG. By KG being on the boards and anchoring that defense, it opens up the rest of the Boston offense. LA has to throw more guys down in the paint to rebound, control the paint, which in turn opens lanes up for everyone else.

in the end, all KG cares about is getting the ring...

but right now IMO PP>KG but only by a veeeeeeeeery slight margin
