No. Powe just has more energy and a bigger desire to play as hard as he can. Did any of you see the story they showed at halftime last night?

Powe isn't that good to begin with so I'm going to have to go with yes.

No

Powe is an undersized PF that gets by because of his quickness, jumping ability, fairly long arms. Hansborough is an undersized poweforward that has not nearly the quicknes, jumpoing ability and short arms. He's a smart fundemental player who dominated in colleage becuase of his strength and hard work. He's not going to have that kind of strenght advantage in the NBA. He's not going to be able to hide in zones on D.

Becuase I watch the games maybe?

Becuase draft experts who scout the players say he is: Draft express "Offensively Hansbrough has stuck with his bread and butter so far this season; hard nosed play in the paint. Not only is he one of the strongest players pound for pound in the country, but Hansbrough is so smart when he gets the ball inside. He keeps his pivot foot better than maybe any post player in the college game, and uses a flurry of head and ball fakes to get himself good looks inside. "

"What he lacks in leaping ability and length, he makes up for with his strength and basketball IQ."

The big fundamental doesn't exactly have the best looking shot in the NBA either. He stands pigeon toed with his knees together and shoots it as flat as could be. Even though he's not a great ft shooter, his shots usually go in.

Powe is more athletic than Hansbrough. Powe is very strong for a guy as short as he is. He also very athletic (quickness and jumping ability) for a guy that tall. That creates mismatches with many teams. If Powe wasn't an injury concern coming out of college he would have been drafted higher than Hansbrough will be.

Well actually he had a per of 20.9 this year. He is a pretty good player, but Doc Rivers has been very sporadic with his playing time. He also lead the Pac-10 in scoring and rebounding, while in college. I do not think he is the second coming of Charles Barkley, but he has played well in more than one game.

Tyler Hansorough is the second coming of Ed Nealy or maybe Jack Haley. Can anyone give me an example of an undersized unathletic PF like him that's been any more than a role player in the last 20 years?

There are certain guys who are great NCAA players that just aren't made for the NBA. Players who play in the ACC seem to get some kind of free pass becuase of the conference. Many people couldn't belive people doubted ACC leading scorer JJ Reddick.

Its just the way the NBA is. Total idiots with athletic ability can survive for years on athletic ability or coaches hoping to unlock potential. Very smart and skilled guys like Tyler yend to hang around the fringes or not make it at all becuase they go from advantaged (bigger stonger) in NCAA to disadvantaged in the NBA

I don't think anyone is trying to refute the fact that Hansbrough will be nothing more than a role player in the NBA... The thing is that a role player is Leon Powe's ceiling / destined career path as well.

So really this is a debate over which role player is going to be the better NBA player, for what's it worth I think Hansborough will be better than Powe.

"Hate" is a strong word. Did Ray Ray give you a nightmare? Did Kobe give u a wet dream? It seems like you're not much of a ball fan if you "hate" both the Celts and Lakers.
