That makes no sense. In real life, the new year's salaries will be used from July 1st, i.e. before the draft. As the draft is already over we should already have switched over to next year's salaries. Our trade should be perfectly legal.

You do realize June comes before July right

Orlando accepts.zong wrote:The Orlando Magic and Portland Trail Blazers Have Agreed on 4 Different Trades (Pending the 11-team Trade):
(picture)(picture)
Trade 1:
Port sends:
Von Wafer 770,610
Sean Marks 770,610
Magic Sends:
Marcin Gortat 427,163
James Augustine 687,456
Trade Works Because of Minimum Contracts
Trade 2:
Port Sends:
Tim Thomas $5,632,200
Marcin Gortat -min-
James Augustine -min-
Magic Sends:
Adonal Foyle $1,219,590
Maurice Evans $1,740,000
Von Wafer $770,610
Sean Marks $770,610
ORL outgoing: 4,500,810 x 1.25 + 100k = $5,726,012.5 therefore it works
Trade works for Portland because incoming smaller than outgoing
Trade 3:
Port sends:
Von Wafer 770,610
Sean Marks 770,610
Magic Sends:
Marcin Gortat 427,163
James Augustine 687,456
Trade Works Because of Minimum Contracts
Trade 4:
Port sends:
Chuck Hayes $1,750,000
James Augustine -min
Magic Sends:
Von Wafer $770,610
Sean Marks $770,610
ORL outgoing: 1,541,220 x 1.25 = 1,926,525 therefore it works
Trade works for Portland because incoming smaller than outgoing
Portland Accepts all four deals and waive Von Wafer.

My bad, going against rules I put in place. Raps would like to waive Lindsey Hunter pick up Skinner and Patterson.
New Orleans already signed Patterson.

I figured it might get vetoed so I am not surprised it was close. I really did not like the deal for San Antonio one bit.
quite frankly, I didn't at all like the deal you got. You shed salary and got a first pick in the process too!!!
I think for the next time, it'd be better if all GM's are told abt the entire deal from the very beginning so that everyone knows what others are getting. If I knew that a 2-3 teams were getting the package they got, I would have never been a part of the that deal. I reluctantly accepted cuz Zong had much too much time and effort in it. Otherwise, I would have denied the trade.

Well I also gave up a very good shooting guard prospect in the process. And lets not exaggerate the value of that first rounder. I don't get it until the 2012 draft. That's 4 years from now.

Well thats why I asked him for the full deal b4 I accepted it. I never accept a deal more complicated than a deal between 2 teams without seeing what the other teams are getting out of it. Its the only way to avoid someone else getting more value than you with the package you are giving up.

Thats the thing, he didn't show it to me when I asked about it 3-4 times saying than everyone complains about the fact that they're not getting enough and all that stuff. Whenever I have done a multiteam deal before, I have always asked to see the whole thing or shown people the whole thing. Zong just happened to pull a fast one there! lol

Same here, I asked a few times and he never showed me.
