You know that numerous owners, including Marc Cuban, have come out publically stating the league officials told them that was the reason for the change, right? It's still on Cuban's blog if you care to look.

Actually, it was the 2004 Finals being reviewed by the league at the request of Marc Cuban that led to the rule changes. The league agreed that they allowed the Pistons to be too physical and that it gave the Pistons an advantage, even though it was bending the rules (not only handchecking, but hip checking and "incidental" contact). That, and the fact that Kobe decided that he didn't want to be a sidekick anymore, cost the Lakers the 2004'chip.

But game 5 of the 02 WCF was as fixed as game 6. 18 shots for Shaq and 1 free throw? 3 offensive fouls called back to back to back? Come on! You don't just miss that many calls on accident. Is game 5 the one that Webber hip checked Fisher to the floor allowing Bibby to make a 3 at the buzzer? If so, add that to the list of crappy calls in game 5.

I know that already..but that definitely wasn't the reason LA lost the series, which is all I said..real classy blaming the refs for an entire series that ended 4-1..

the east was a complete joke during the lakers's championship run, the only chance the lakers had of not winning the title was if the blazers or kings could take them out

I'm sure one could be found on many of the torrent sites that upload NBA games. Try mixmakers. I personally downloaded and watched this game last year itself and there's no denying it...it's the single most obvious "fixed" game this league has ever seen. There are so many bogus calls against Sacramento on the defensive end in the 4th qtr...I don't know how Adelman didn't get himself ejected. Offensively too Kings deserved more free throws. Every fu cking person who watched Game 6 knew something very foul was going on. It's not like Game 5 of that series where only the deluded, self-entitled LA fans thought their team got screwed. That was simply a game where a few calls didn't go their way. It was nothing like Game 6 where you could see officiating single handedly refusing to let a team win. If we simply conducted a survey a couple of days ago asking NBA fans which game they believe was fixed this decade...every fu cking vote would've gone to Game 6 of that series. I'm glad this game is being exposed for what it was. The fans deserve better and more importantly, Sacramento deserves better. They were robbed of a sure fire championship.

Pistons Lakers wasn't fixed. Because the series was 4-1.

Kobe being a dumbass just cost them that year.

Kings Lakers 6 was obviously fixed. 5 was just bad officiating.

I know stern is trying to cover his ****. But comeon dude, the NBA is like oh this guy is trying to lighten his sentence. Don't bull me or the NBA fans. When your going to Jail, people sing like birds dude. Don't be suprised this happened Stern.

It won't last the waiting period after you upload it, as youtube have been told to delete anything related to game 6. Better off uploading it on rapidshare or some other file sharing site and make sure to give it a totally different file name, otherwise the site might delete it as well.

Yes. The league office admitted it when they made the "handcheck rule". It wasn't the only reason... Malone getting hurt and Payton punking out helped. But Kobe's shot selection and the Lakers not being able to get the ball to Shaq were both a result of the excessive perimeter contact. Hence the rule change.

He elbowed him before he grabbed him

THe only reason he grabbed Kobe because Bibby was going to the floor after he got hit.

and it still dosen't matter if it's an accident. Kid got hit in the choppers, and it should have been called a foul. I've seen billions of plays where players get hit by an elbow and they do call a foul

Look. After Game 4, the NBA knew they had a classic matchup on their hands. The officiating in the 4th quarter of GAME 5 was obviously called in the Kings' favor, it's just that it wasn't as obvious as game 6. If the NBA really got involved in that series, it was after the Robert Horry shot.

Still, LMAO at all of you still hating. Fact of the matter is that Game 7 was in the King's home court and they choked hard. Game 7 wasn't game 6, it was game 7...at Arco, and they had their chances to win that game.

-incidental or not, it was clearly a foul and a flagrant one at that.
-bibby's grab was clearly blatant because he just got whacked in his face and was falling backwards. he grabbed onto kobe to prevent from cracking his skull.
-as for the other two "fouls," wow. i can't really blame you since it's your team, but wow.
