No one is certain yet. However, the more important question is how much would the other teams in the league be willing to pay JCN. As a restricted FA, JCN can either sign a large deal with another club that Memphis can opt not to match or, the more likely case, a sign and trade could be worked out.

IMO JCN will get a better offer from Memphis, or another NBA team, than he will from FC Barcelona.

The more important question in my mind is how much are the Grizz willing to pay Marc Gasol. That should prove to be interesting.

He'll probaly get $4-5 million......... MEM would match that.......

Preference would probaly be to trade him with Cardinal for an Expiring or just JCN for and expiring and a #1

He's worth a sign and trade of an expiring and a first round pick to allow us to get back what we gave up.

I doubt he plays in Memphis next season.

I only hope that we can get that kind of value in return after an unspectacular first season.

Nothing more than an undersized 2 that can make an open shot, really. I suspect that he signs a cheaper deal somewhere else or returns to Europe. I doubt that Memphis ends up getting anything for him unless he proves the first sentence wrong this year.

To me JCN is worth about 3mil. I really think he is underpayed, but that was before he got his contract.

If the Grizzlies are giving $4-5 million to Juan Carlos Navarro they better be trying to trade it.

I hope there's another player involved in that deal because no one is taking on Brian Cardinal just to get Juan Carlos Navarro. I'm not even certain he's even worth a 1st.

It is true that they may not take on Cardinal. However, I think JCN is worth a first round pick at this stage, especially is if it is latei n the first. One must remember that this was his first year in the league. It could simply be an adjustment period.

I got some inside information that Wallace hasn't even decided whether or not to give JCN his qualifying offer (which is less than 1 million dollars)

this should tell you everything you need to know....

If that's the truth (and I have no reason to doubt you Zack) we may as well give up now...

I can corroborate Zack's info-they may not even submit QO on him.

However, there is also no reason to have decided yet-the QO isn't due for a few days yet...

Navarro can easily get an offer arounf 2.5-3mio euros after taxes in Europe, so somewhere around a 7mio$ in a NBA contract.

If it were for the money, he would have been still there.

Yup i just heard he signed deal that will bring him around 3mill euro per year, thats like signing a 8mill dollar deal in the NBA, or a 40mill/5 year deal because he signed a 5 year deal.
Because thats 3mill net and 1€=1.5$

Your math needs some work, but yea.. much more than he would make in the NBA.

Well not really 3mill € = 4.5 mill $ AFTER taxes, with taxes which NBA players still have to pay and euro players don't and are roughly 40% you get a 8mill $ contract.
