OT: David "Vince McMahon" Stern

Post#1 » by MrDollarBills » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:23 pm

So guys, who else always has had a belief that Game 6 between the Kings vs. Lakers in 2002(and i was praying Sacto would win because we matched up better against them than LA) was fixed? I damn sure did at the time, that was one of the 5 worst officiated games i've seen out of any pro sport and I for one don't think Donaghy is lying about that game in particular, hell even Scot Pollard had his doubts. Stern can sit back, throw the word "felon" around 100 times, and act smug all he wants but I think that there is truth somewhere in these claims.

I also believe that the 2006 Finals was fixed as well as the 7th game of the Blazers vs. Lakers series of 2000. Game 2 of this years finals definitely had a lot of funny business going on.

So, whats the general Net fan consensus here? Do you think the league is somewhat fixed? Honestly, I don't think Donaghy ratting Stern and co out is news because anyone who has watched the NBA(and isn't some Lakers or Bulls homer) for the past 20 years knows that there has been some questionable stuff occuring on the court regardless of team loyalties. I don't think every game is fixed and 97% of what we see is due to the merits of the players and coaches, but i do think for certain important contests in the playoffs the NBA has their teams and players(READ: ratings + fan popularity) that get "special treatment", i think that some of the stuff that took place with Dwayne Wade prior to the downfall of the Heat was "fixed" by order of the NBA. We can go back to Michael Jordan's "last shot" against the Jazz and that was a blatant offensive foul that wasn't called(and this doesn't include the other crap that Jordan, as great as he was, got away with). I still maintain that the Gasol trade was NBA sanctioned collusion as well, i wouldnt be shocked to see the Grizzlies end up with the #1 pick next season and not just due to how horrible they'll be.

This really has nothing to do with the Nets right now as a team or the future. This is more of a topic that should be discussed on the General NBA Discussion board.

Uh....that's why I put it as an OT topic, to hear Nets fans opinions on the matter and for us to discuss years old nba conspiracy theories amongst ourselves(especially since the fixed game in question somewhat relates to the Nets, regardless whether or not one thinks that Kidd and co could have beat the Kings), if you don't feel like contributing your opinion, then ignore this thread. I've seen OT topics posted on here before and i didn't see anyone have a problem with it, so really, what is your problem...this time???

David Stern is the devil. I cannot believe Congress hasn't come down on him yet. All he does is laugh off allegations instead of investigate them like a Commissioner should. With Spygate, as soon as you heard the Patriots have older video tapes, a few congressmen go crazy and put together a task force to investigate. With Steroids, when it was first heard of people may be using steroids, Congress brought Selig in and yelled at him for a few days...and now it's at this point.

Drives me up a wall David Stern gets a free pass right now. I'm praying Donaghey's lawyers find some proof or someone comes forward...because I'm almost positive Donaghey isn't totally wrong. There is some truth to what he's saying even if he's just trying to save his ass.

I've been bitching since the 01-02 season I really thought Stern or some officials were rigging games (more stern than officials though). I went crazy in that game 6 in 2002 and wanted to punch someone because I thought the Heat/Mavericks finals was rigged all along. Something is fishy and I can't believe Congress hasn't demanded Stern investigate.

The only reason i think Congress should look into it is because of the anti trust laws and if there is evidence out there that proves these games are fixed than the NBA is committing a fraud and they should have charges brought against them by the feds. Otherwise, i think Congress has more important matters to attend to, like why it costs me 75 dollars to fill up my car

But yeah, Stern shouldn't be able to just scoff this off. I hope they investigate him and the league tooth and nail

Finally! Guy's i have been saying the league is a conspiracy for years. Why you would need to hold a lottery behind closed doors is beyond me. I mean imagine if your state or national lottery was held behind closed doors? ...... and the winner is ticket number 0000001 C montgomery Burns!..... It looks terrible.
Anyways nets fans don't be to fooled about the Lakers finals series. Worry more about the Spurs series. We were 1-1 all with home court advantage people!!!!! Problem is JKIDD's buddy Lusciuos Harris Left his jump shot in Texas and forgot how to catch a ball.
Can Frank coach the kids?

One of them posts that annoys me. This post has nothing to nothing to contribute to the "almost boring, empty" forums we have right now. It's not something that needs to be said when the person who made the thread knows what the deal was. Make some sense and just post your god damn thoughts, not a moderator-like kind of comment (just reminds me of someone wanting that position  ).

... and what's worse, he kept backin' up his s2pid comments.

Relax, i am not one of the disciples like you and (you guys know who you are). I dont follow your master like you do so i dont really care about it.

This is just a forum, nothing to get scared about. Don't take it seriously.

.... and you dont have to respond to my post again like you're trying to get back at me for what i did to you the last time. Stop being childish. What happened before is over.

Master? And who do you think that would be? enetric? Tell me, does it still hurt when you sit down because of the tattoo on your a** that reads "Property of enetric"? Your posts here have become useless, thoughtless, and don't intrigue anyone. Not that I could blame you. Not only have you been completely obliterated by enetric, but your idol seems to be 50 Cent, one of the most overrated rappers in the game...whose music is useless, thoughtless, and doesn't intrigue anyone. Not to mention your avatar captures a picture of possibly one of the worst Simpsons episodes...ever. Why don't you wait another six months to see if you could post something that contributes to the board? Seriously, your at the point where these things have a better chance of happening. So in fifteen seconds, let me off the top of my head tell you what has a better chance of happening:

Go!
- 50 Cent actually keeping a promise to stay out of the hip-hop game
- 50 Cent having another semi-decent album
- 50 Cent gaining more popularity than Kanye
- Bush pulling troops out of Iraq
- Obama making a rap album that sells more than 50 Cent
- Hilary Clinton supporting Bush
- Obama forcing Hilary to show her bush
- Me actually giving a damn about anyone I've mentioned above
Time!

Damn it! I was just getting started. The worst thing is you think that you're always right and you keep backing your useless, thoughtless, posts...that don't intrigue anyone.

This is just a forum, nothing to get scared about. Don't take it seriously.

Right. It sure is over. Yet you brought up...

(just reminds me of someone wanting that position

Smooth move. As far as chilidish goes, at least he's not typing things like "s2pid". Not to mention even if this thread doesn't follow rules, you've yet to put your opinion on the matter, but go after me and jeff. So who's holding the grudge? Sorry buddy, I, like the majority who join a Nets Board, want to talk Nets to learn and discuss Nets. If you want to interfere with that, you could be "s2pid" somewhere else. Otherwise, topics have their own board to be talked about.

:noway:

I don't see how this thread, which was intended to be some harmless OT discussion amongst US NET FANS and not any other fans, turned into this.

And Rich, i understand what you meant, but if jersey jac hasn't locked the thread or informed me that i broke the rules, i don't see what the big deal is. I just wanted to hear thoughts from our little group on this matter, not start a thread that leads to "beef".
