...there are no job openings. Vinny Del Negro -- being reported by WGN -- just got hired by the Bulls.
(Detroit...naaaahh, they want Curry to be the coach)
Great point, Gonzo!!!

and the Suns just hired Terry Porter. This is good news for us but kind of crappy for Tommy T. He gets penalized for being successfuly and playing late into the summer as his team competes for the championship. He'll have plenty of opportunties in the future though. I don't think he should worry. He'll get his chance.

Bynum and Company will be back for in the finals next years and Boston needs Thibodeau's defense on Kobe to have a slight chance next year! Would you agree?
You are placing your hopes on a 7 foot 22 year old with a bum knee to be the deciding factor in beating the Celtics?
I like your defeatist attitude about this season and the fact you are hysterically delusional about next year.

Do everyone a favor and stay off the Boston board if you're going to call people "stupid" and "jerk", okay?

shobe 81- the Lakers have nothing to do with where Tom T. ends up so clearly you're just trying to get in an irrelevant point of how you believe a 22 year old who has done nothing in this league and has been worse than kwame brown was against the celtics, automatically guarentees the Lakers a spot in next years final. also seems to me that you've already accepted that your team is inferior to the celtics. Andrew Bynum made Kendrick Perkins look like Shaquille O'Neal when he played for the Lakers.

No, he is not.
He is an Associate Head Coach.
Yeah basically that means he's above assistants and can rightfully be looked to for decision making by assistants. He runs his own segment of the team [in this instance defense].
This is apart of his contract and it is there specifically to recognize he is not "just and assistant coach". His mark on this team is as blatant as Doc's.

It's amazing that these NBA teams won't give this guy a shot. He basically made Jeff Van Gundy a successful coach, he's young, and he's the assistant to an NBA finals team where his guys universally love playing for him.
Seems like the ownerships on these teams are way too impatient. If they'd just wait another 3 weeks they'd have a future Coach of the Year on their hands. Whatever. Their loss is our gain.
