Trade Dal-Tor

Post#1 » by dtownmavs41 » Thu Jun 12, 2008 8:21 am

Dal Trades:
Josh Howard
Jerry Stackhouse
Either Eddie Jones or S&T of George or someone of that sort to fill the money

Tor Trades:
TJ Ford
Jason Kapono
Jorge Garbajosa

The Raptors are looking to shop Ford, and with his long contract there aren't as many teams who would be willing to trade for him. The mavs could get a point guard of the future and a hometown kid in Ford. The Raptors are also trying to buyout the final year in Garbajosa's contract, so this would only work if that does not happen. Then Kapono would fill the void of a true shooter. Someone who has been at the top of the league in 3 pt % and Ft% the last few seasons.

This trade would create a bigger who in athleticism on the team but then this would allow the mavs to shop around a combination of Bass+Terry to maybe get an athletic SG. (Jason Richardson) But we will see. Garbajosa would fill the void at backup PF, and he is a solid player. He was hurt almost all of last season, but the year before that he averaged Bass like numbers. And if it doesn't work out, its his final year.

Toronto would finally get a solid number 2 behind Bosh. Yes they would be losing their best shooter in Kapono, but they have many players on their team who can shoot (Delfino, Parker, Calderon, and Bargnani). Toronto also would find a home for Ford, who they are looking to move, and this would allow them to commit to Calderon as their PG.

Then Dallas can use their MLE exception to go after Diop and CJ Miles.

Dal:
Kidd/Ford
Richardson/Miles
Kapono/Wright
Dirk/Garbajosa
Damp/Diop

Tor:
Calderon/
Parker/Delfino/Stackhouse/Eddie Jones
Howard/Moon/Graham
Bosh/Humphries
Bargnani/Nesterovic

If Garbajosa does get bought out soon the mavs could try a different trade.

Dal Trades:
Howard
S&T George

Tor Trades:
Ford
Kapono

This way we still get the main pieces of the other trade and Toronto still gets the guy they would want. Also George could be a one year contract so if it doesn't work with him they could let him go. This would also allow Dallas to keep Stackhouse who I believe will be a valuable trade piece because of how his contract is set up. He is set to make around 7 mil this year and about 2 mil next year unless the mavs win the finals then he makes over 7 mil.

Because our starting pg is 35 years old and in the last year of his contract. We do not have a backup pg on our roster for next season. We do not have a first round pick this year so we aren't going to draft one that can play next year, and we are going to use the MLE on players at other positions.

We do not have a pure shooter on our team other than Terry, and its not a good thing that the only one we have is about 6'3 or 6'2.

Howard is more than likely going to be dealt, and since his stock is low we won't get much in return. The good thing is that the Raptors need to move Ford as well and his stock is low, but he is a very good true pg. So the mavs can get these two players and maybe even a first round pick out of the Raptors.

I may be one of the few who would like TJ as a Mav, but I would also prefer Hinrich over TJ if possible.

perhaps:
JHO to TO
Nesterovic, Stack, Moon and #17 to Chi
Hinrich and Noccione to Dal

Uh-huh, so we'll trade him for a guy whose random body part explodes into a million pieces 14 times in a season? Great idea! Where do I sign?

Kidd will most likely be extended for a year or two. I'd definitely pass on this.

You usually are a trade critic, and support your criticism with facts and good opinions. What would you propose the mavs attempt to do this summer?

Terrible trade. I am hoping for a Josh Howard trade, but I dont think his value is THAT low... Im pretty confident we could do a Bargnani-Josh swap, if we had to trade with Toronto, but that seems like a pretty bad deal for Dallas as well.

Bargnani?

LOL. Why would you want him?

Without a 3-way, the only Dal-Tor trade involving Howard would be for Calderon if we are trading Kidd. Other than that, Tor needs a 3rd team to get Howard.

NETS fan here.

I would take that trade in a heart beat if I am Mark Cuban.

T.J. Ford is really really good.

Just watch the couple years playoff match against the NETS.

jason Kapono is a good pick up for any team.

Josh Howard is a looser in playoff !!!
