I do agree that starting Tony if RR is out is the right move. That being said, I can't see Doc having the marbles to make such a move. He didn't throw him in against the Hawks, Cavs, or Pistons (though Detroit could have pressured him more), I can't see him taking the risk and starting him against LA...though he most certainly should.

I see Sam I am starting and being the barometer for the C's tonight, if Rondo doesn't play.

Starting Tony Allen is very intelligent. He is a very proficient Kobe Stopper for Kobe Stopper standpoint...didnt KB shoot atriociously throughout his career with Allen on him. I recall TA doing a very fine job defending Kobe throughout his career. If the Lakers don't pressure the PG's, then TA could just dribble the ball up court and give it to the big 3 to have the offense run through them and simply fade in the background.

I think worst comes to worst TA does zip offensivley, but makes it tougher for KObe to score....I'll take that any day of the week if RR is out.

If Doc starts Cassell tonight, he must be fired immediately and we go with Tom T. Does Cassell have Doc's kids hostage? WTF?

The good play you saw from Tony was well over a year ago now.

... Didn't happen regularly since over a year and a half ago now. Now we think he'll just step in and play well?? Didn't happen vs Detroit, thats for sure.

Oh, if I only had the YouTube link to that last second shot attempt by Billups where he faked the fall and TA was just staying put playing great D.

Enough with the mass wholesale exaggerations already. Yes, TA has made some bonehead plays, yes he's lost the ball when dribbling into traffic but to say he hasn't made good plays in a year is insane. He's put some very solid minutes out there, just hasn't been consistent due his his injury recovery and not getting enough minutes to find a flow on a much better team this year. He can contribute. Maybe not getting big minutes but if Rondo is out we need him.

I like TA; I don't understand all the hate.

A lot of his problems stem from not having regular playing time--granted, that would be a problem for him tonight. But look at when KG came back from his injury. He was seriously rusty for a few games. But when TA gets out on the floor after weeks of DNPs, nobody calls it rust; it's who he is. Give the guy a break. Even if he's rusty he might find himself for a game.

I like him for another reason. He is lethal going to the basket and L.A. hasn't seen him yet. After you get a game like you got the other night out of a guy like Leon Powe, it's hard to do it again with the same guy because you better believe that they'll be ready for him. But how much film have they watched of TA? If you want to win 4 games, stealing 1 or 2 or 3 of them with big performances from role players is huge. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Eddie House get big minutes the other night. He showed signs of heating up--who knows? We could get that kind of a surprise out of Tony Allen.

I hope Doc inserts TA into the game at any rate. Whether Rondo is ready to go or not.

Didn't read all the thread, but wasn't it Tony Allen who was backing away from Ginobili in the regular season when Ginobli tried to milk a foul?

Now that was damn funny
