David Stern is in reality... Vince McMahon.

The NBA is fixed as the WWE, every game, every shot, every storyline is scripted. Remember the Kobe-Colorado affair? The Melo punch? Marbury going crazy? Artest brawl? That was just the NBA turning some players into heels...

Look at Kobe. Started face, turn heel, then hit the 81 plateau and he was face again... Now in the Finals/Wrestlemania, he's turning heel again. Just like Triple H who is constantly going heel/face.

The referees biased, unexpected suspensions that turn into handicap matches...

Damn! They even have a lottery and trades! RAW is like the West Conference, SmackDown is the inferior league with outstanding 1st guns (eastern conference) and the ECW is the NBDL.

You stupid fools, you had it in front you and you didn't realize

Other than Kobe's elbow to Bibby and a 27 to 9 free throw discrepancy (16 of which were intentional fouls, and 11 weren't, resulting to a 11-9 free throw discrepancy), what makes you guys think that the game was fixed besides TD's allegations? If your biggest argument is that the Lakers shot more free throws in the 4th, see my statements above. Also, did you watch the other games? The officiating heavily favored Sacramento. Game 5, I think it was, had Shaq shooting 18 times and getting to the line once. With Divac covering him! He had 3 offensive fouls in a row from Divac flops. Am I the only one that saw this?

What games were you watching. Charles Smith getting mugged in game 5? The Blazers getting screwed? The Jazz getting screwed?

If the Donaghy things prove to be true, then you'll seriously have to look into the Jordan era. It pains me to say it, but it's true. That being said, if there was a fix back then it was orchestrated much more carefully than game six against the Kings. I can't remember anything too egregious from the second three-peat (I'm too young to comment much about the first three-peat). Nothing that compared to what we saw with the Kings.

Jazz fans are correct about the Harper and Eisley, though. They got screwed out of five important points. Still, you can imagine how easy it is to make a mistake on a shot clock violation. If I remember correctly, the backboards didn't have the red lights (when the shot clock expires) like they do now. I'll pop in the DVD of that game and watch it later to see if I notice anything outlandish.

I can imagine the meeting before the Bulls/Jazz game. David Stern sends a letter to the refs saying:

" If there is a situation where MJ is taking a game winning shot at the end of the 4th and pushes off of Russel, don't call a foul on him."

Actually if it was fixed, I wish they would fix it back.

The league was a hell of a lot better and more fair seeming back then.

There were no ref suspicions even to the level of Wade in the 06 finals, let alone Kings/Lakers blatent bullcrap back then.

Arent laker fans just the best? MJ didnt get called for the foul because of who he is, Fisher didnt get called for the foul against barry because of who he plays for if that was utah no doubt they give the foul to fisher, the league favors and helps certain teams and players. Huge reason the NFL is more popular. Although with this whole thing I look forward to the league next year as I dont think stern will control as much next year with everyone watching him.

When the Sonics were playing the Bulls in the finals I remember Jordan and Payton both got T'd up together around the 2nd quarter. Later on in the 4th quarter it was tight and Jordan got called for a foul and he went balistic on the ref. I remember I jumped up out of my seat yelling at the ref to boot him. Jordan was pi$$ed and swearing. I have never seen any player go off on a ref like that and not get T'd up or ejected.

So I do think there is with out a doubt superstar treatment that happens.

Meh, the Utah Jazz have nothing to complain regarding the 1990s.

They had several glorious chances to bury the Bulls and couldn't do it.

Jordan was walking around like a half-dead zombie food poisoned by a Utah hotel (I'm sure that was purely accidental btw) and they still can't beat the Bulls.

Scottie Pippen in '98 was moving like 95-year-old man with a back injury and had to actually leave game 6. Utah is leading down the stretch, all Karl Malone has to do is make a play, yet they still screw that up.

The Jazz didn't deserve either one of those finals.

As for the other series', I'd say the Bulls beat the Lakers, Blazers, Suns, and Sonics fairly convincingly.

MJ is the the NBA equivalent to Chuck Norris. Jordan didnt lose games, he let the other team win so that the league wouldnt look rigged.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

lol was it fixed that karl malone didnt man up and take it to basket instead of shooting jumpers all day? I would think the early part of this era was fixed with Lakers winning that last championship in 02. NBA probably wanted another "dynasty" and heir to jordan in kobe...

The NBA wasn't as desperate back then. The league was doing better back then. But when they fixed the Laker Kings game 6 which I do believe that they did, the NBA was in trouble and was in decline. Look at ratings. The NBA hasn't been what it was in the 80's, or 90's lately. I've heard Stern blames Detriot and the Spurs for being good but whatever.

LOL. The Charles Smith blocks were clean. Maybe in today's league they would call fouls, but back then those were clean strips of the ball. You didn't hear any Knicks complaining about that. How did the Blazers get screwed?
