Chris Wilcox #24 #32 for Stromile Swift #10 #40

Would you guys do this trade. Looks to me like Wilcox is likely better than anything that would be available at 10. Wilcox likely could play 35 minutes a game on the Nets and put up 16 and 9 pretty easily. Wilcox, Jefferson, Carter, Harris, Nenad could be one of the more balanced starting 5s in the East.

I think the ship has sailed when it comes to Wilcox in a nets uniform. I don't think adding more salary and trading draft picks would be in our best interest, not with the way the teams built at the moment.

If the team decides to try and contend with what we got now I would LOVE to think Thorn would use Swift and his expiring contract and try to obtain a better player than wilcox.

Overall I believe Swift and the 10th pick is much more valuable than wilcox with the team we got.

Personally, I believe that Wilcox is not worth the margin between the picks. The 10th could really buy an allstar in this draft and I do not think it is worth it to trade down at this point. Wilcox is a nice player who could make an impact on the Nets, but I would not go this route as a GM.

Overall, it is a somewhat fair suggestion, but I would argue that swapping 40 for 32 really does not make up for the differential. (although there will be some excellent grabs at 32)

Well you wouldn't be adding money because Wilcox only has 1 year left on his deal like Swift.

Your right that you could get an all-star at 10. I guess the question is what is NJ gameplan for the future. If your thinking rebuild then you probably take someone at 10 and perhaps look to trade RJ and Vince for more picks or young talent.

If your thinking that this team can still compete for the East. Then hoping and waiting for someone at 10 is probably not the move. Wilcox isn't a great PF but obviously if he was you wouldn't get him with just the 10th pick. He is good enough that if he was on the Nets you probably have a team that could compete with on most nights with most teams. Thats if VC is still capable of being one of the best players in the NBA.

If its me and I am the GM of the Nets I'm probably starting over. Trading VC and RJ for as much cap space, young players and future picks I could get. Thats because right now I see nothing on the Nets that would make me think a championship is in the future.

If I'm okay with trying to be a 50 win team and seeing if we could pull a upset in the finals then this move would make sense. With the 24 and 32nd pick you could still get some really good players. Maybe even the same player that you considered taking 10.

We've talked about wilcox a lot on this forum. Some people think he's ok. some people think he sucks. We all basically agree we don't want him on the nets. and we're not trading away the #10 pick EVER if we put together a deal for him.

Still doesn't mean wilcox is worth the #10 pick.

Never said Wilcox was worth the 10th pick. Thats why I offered pick 24. I would say Wilcox alone would be worth around pick 15. Perhaps if someone offered you pick 15 and 24 for 10 you would do that. In terms of value I think its a fair deal.

No way would you get #15 for him. As much as net fans overvalue our players, every Sonic fan to me overvalues Wilcox way to much. Stro + #40 would be the closest Thorn/Kiki would every go for Wilcox. Do I think he's worth more than that? Slightly more, but I guarantee you won't be getting a better deal from the Nets than that offer.

^ I'd say that's highly undervaluing Wilcox, but I catch your drift. There is not reason to acquire him if the number 10 pick is in the conversation.
