Can we please stop the Kobe > MJ threads now?

Post#1 » by Biff » Fri Jun 13, 2008 3:52 am

Jordan never lost a finals series. Kobe is about to. Letting his team blow a 24 point lead. Wow.

This should be a nail in the coffin for those ridiculous notions.

There shouldn't be any in the first place. Seriously, Kobe is almost shooting under 40% in the finals for his career (might even be under now), there isn't and won't ever be a legit argument.

It's sad that you're 100% right.

They never should have started to begin with. Anyways they wont stop ever.

You watch, next season when Bryant drops 60 in some unimportant regular season game, a Kobe fan will post this Jordan vs. Kobe nonsense again.

there is constant comparisons discussing the gap between the two or how they stack up in specific moments in their career or specific aspects of their game.

there is never a kobe > mj argument.

You're partially right. There are some who think he is a better player. I'm not going to dig through the pages of crapfests that have occurred to prove my point. Most who argue for Kobe usually just think he'll end up better. So in that regard you are correct.

Either way- both are ridiculous.

Sorry Biff but as long as Kobe continues to play in the league there will always be comparisons. And by starting a thread asking people to stop the comparisons you just started a new topic about MJ verses Kobe. So jokes on you.

MJ= the best guard and arguably the best basketball player in the history of basketball.

Kobe= top 3 player in his era.

that is the difference, seriously only common thing they have is they both listed at 6 6 and both playing shooting guard.

Kobe's not playing on a team that favorably compares to any of Jordan's Dynasty Bulls squads...

Its a complete joke... Kobe's teammates gave him a huge lead tonight but he couldn't do anything to close it. The many Kobe homers on realgm will find some way to spin it and say how Kobe is one of the top 2 or 3 best ever but it's not close any of the greats could have closed games like tonight and this series out.

kobe already lost a finals in 04. I dont even know why young people bring up kobe is better than jordan. Kobe had no heart tonight and is still selfish don't believe the hype that he's a "changed" player. His teammates just played better this year, so he had no reason to bitch at them. Wait until this series is over and see if this guy starts bitching again....

Yeah, but watching both players, in there primes...I think its pretty evident, that Jordan is a much better player. Regardless of teammates, just looking at what the players brought indiviually from clutch play, to leadership and decision making, to just outplaying the guy across from you and making them silly in the biggest stage and its not really close.

IMO, Kobe has not been the best player in this series, period. You could never say that about Jordan especially in the finals.

When you are "hands down" the best player in the league, you think that particular player would bring something more than Kobe has this series.

Jordan never had anyone that could get him easy buckets in the post?

That's why the Bulls could never sweep in the finals. Shows how good MJ was to be able to win that many titles without a guy who could score in the post and get easy buckets.
