Is Vujacic a Slovenian word for 'crybaby'?

Post#1 » by nyhuskyfan » Fri Jun 13, 2008 1:08 pm

"The whole game, from the minute I came in, they called fouls on me. He fell down, foul. I was trying to find a way to guard him for 48 minutes, and everything I did was a foul. He got me. He went to the basket, and it was a good basket. I don't know what else to say," Vulajcic said, half-forlorn, half-disgusted as he stood in front of his locker in a morose Lakers dressing room.

He got called for three fouls in the entire game, one of which was a wrestling move.

I know, I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I read that quote. Free throw attempts for game 4: Lakers 29, Celtics 28. Dead even. And Vujacic, I don't even remember seeing him called for any fouls...how many did he have?

Just acknowledge that, like Gasol and Vlad Rad, you're softer than wet tissue paper, you got your manhood stripped away completely by Ray, and leave it at that.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

You know he was saying this to try and coax the refs to favor the Lakers in game 5, similar to how Phil Jackson did so after game 2.

Unfortunately, Phil has clout, and all Sasha has is a headband.

And those bizarre eyebrows...

I don't know why he's trying to rock the whole "teenage girl working at HotDog-On-A-Stick at the mall during summer break wearing a headband to keep the locks out of the face" look during games, but it's hardly intimidating...

Simmons:

8:48: Just when I thought this couldn't get any better, they just cut to a replay of Vujacic punching a chair and fighting back tears on the bench. That wasn't just the best moment of the Celtics season, I think it was the best moment of my life.

Say what you want about the guy, and yeah, I've been ripping him for a long long time, but you gotta give credit where credit is due: his columns once the Finals started have been GOLD.

When Ray finished the shot, Vujacic was still standing at the foul line. He didn't even trail the play just in case. He just watched.

Now that he's a bonafide C's fan again and isn't riding the Lakers' jocks.

This one was good, though...

I know, right? But hey, you have to give props where they're due. The guy can still turn a classic phrase.
