Will the league rob Ray Allen?

Post#1 » by DynastySS » Fri Jun 13, 2008 4:28 pm

Will the final's MVP go to Pierce, although Ray Allen clearly deserves it?

Or am I offbase here.

he deserves it right now but a huge game from pierce in a closeout game will probably win it for him. allen is the mvp right now though.

Is the MVP indicative of the best player throughout the entire post season, or just the finals? If it's the former then he doesn't deserve it... if it's the latter, then he has certainly earned it. Though the Celtics do still need to win another game before it even matters.

That jumper is just pure sex!

Even the crossover can make a grown man cry! (see Sasha for details).

I think it would be great if Ray wins it, I just have a feeling Pierce is the "bigger" name/better publicity.

Ray has been great, no doubt about it. But Pierce has pretty much matched his offensive numbers + the whole game 1 comeback, plus the great defense on Kobe. And this is too early, anyways. One more to go.

Ah, well that's a shame. I mean, it's great Jesus decided to show up and play in the finals, but Pierce and to a lesser extent Garnett carried the team for the first 2.5 rounds. Just doesn't seem fair to praise someone for showing up for less than 1/2 of the playoffs.

Pierce is close in scoring, but on a **** load more shots per game.

Allen played great D the first two games against Kobe.

Jesus is also boarding better, logging more minutes, and doing an admirable job at point.

But like you said, there is still more game to be played.

No. God no.

Pierce was the main reason we won game 1 and 2.

And last night when Pierce took Ray off Kobe and allowed our defense to lay off and go into a deep zone... that was the main reason we were able to focus on shutting down the rest of the team for the Lakers. Pierce =Ray last night.

Right now Pierce clearly far and away won game 2. And at least tied Ray for game 1 and 3.

It's great Ray is shooting out of his mind, but Pierce has been too, and he's been creating shots for others and he played lock down defense. Ray deserves a lot of credit for not getting abused though.

None of the above. KG is going to get it, if the Celtics win, it's so obvious it hurts.

Also has Ray Allen.

Allen has been the overall best player in the Finals between both teams but Pierce is getting the PR so he'll probably win when the Celtics do unless Allen gives a remarkable close-out game.

Ray Allen is actually rebounding and playing defense, he deserves the finals MVP.

It would really be funny if the Lakers somehow ended up winning this series.

Pierce makes the entire Boston offense go. When Pierce isn't in the game the Boston players just stand around watching the player with the ball waiting for him to make a play.
