Have you been watching the series. Ray has actually been great at running the point and creating for his team mates.

I think because Peirce is getting so much pub, he will win it. And it won't matter to Ray Allen. He changed his game more this year then KG or Peirce because he wants a ring. As long as that comes, the MVP doesn't matter.

We had similar discussions about Ray "snubs" in the past. If the Celtics win this year, Allen gets a championship, maybe even a finals MVP. He could possibly break Reggie Millers 3pt record. Is he Basketball HOF?

Everyone on Buck's board says no.

if Ray Allen doesn't win it, it's far from a robbery..he might deserve it, but it's a toss-up between him and Truth..

Pierce suffered a possibly season-ending injury in game 1, only to come back and win the game for his team..a solid game 2..and then played great last game, including dominating Kobe on the defensive side..he ASKED to guard Kobe..that's **** balls, and that's a **** leader right there..

it's a toss up..

Haha. I lol'd at this at first. But then again KG does have the best stats out of the big 3.

I don't know who picks the MVP but if they look at the stats they'd probuly give it to KG. Lets not even factor in the media perceiving him as teh sole leader of the team.

I say we give James Posey the Finals MVP. That would shock people and prove the NBA isn't rigged

no, the finals is all about hype..

Tony Parker won it last year, because of his mismatch..he was getting all the hype..KG is getting NO hype in these finals at all, it's all criticism..Pierce is getting the most hype, which means he's going to win it if Boston ends up closing the deal..

I honestly think the MVP award doesn't mean a thing to either one of them. Pierce took Kobe knowing that it might throw off some of his offense, but he thought it was the best thing for the team. Ray played all 48 minutes yesterday and was 3-3 in the second half from the floor - all on lay-ups. He passed up a few good looks at jumpers to try to get other guys good looks, perhaps because he knew it would be better for the team to let the guys shoot jumpers who had the fresher legs.

They both just want rings. KG too. I'm a Ray guy (I should say Ray fan so I don't get confused with the old Oakland punter), but if the Celtics end up winning and he and Pierce are neck and neck for MVP, I'd be happy to see Pierce win it. He's been in Boston all along, and he was so big in the early rounds in Game 7 against Cleveland and Game 6 at Detroit (that doesn't matter for the NBA Finals award, but it makes a good tiebreaker).

I don't think the finals MVP matters at all to KG, or even Ray..I get the feeling that Pierce would want it though..overall, these are 3 guys that have never made it this far in their careers, so they're obviously just happy if they can win the rings..

KG, just like Tim Duncan, is one of the most unselfish guys in NBA history..he just wants to win..

The better question is, if Pierce wins the finals mvp- will his game 3 performance go down as worst in history for a finals mvp? Dude laid an egg that game.

haha Pierce will get it with Ray a close second. I don't any of them care about that MVP, they just want the trophy and rings and banner

I think if Ray were to be the Ray from the Cleveland series he had (has) no shot at the HOF. But being the most consistant peice between KG, Paul and himself in a finals, he has to get consideration. He's been on two teams in the ECF's, he will be the best 3 point shooter in the history of the game when he hangs it up and was a 7 (or 8?) time all star. He isn't sure fire hall of fame, but he should be discussed.

Ahem...the people voted for the MVP in the All Star game. The League had nothing to do with it.

Or am I offbase here.

Pierce was the best player on the court the first two games of the series and although Ray was better yesterday let's not forget led the comeback with his stellar defense on Kobe.

Let's wait until the series is over before we actually discuss this.
