My campaign to draft a Lopez twin

Post#1 » by drgonzo510 » Thu Jun 12, 2008 6:46 pm

I think with Minnesota wanting to move out of the #3 pick, I would love to see the W's put together some type of package for Marko Jaric and the #3. Then we could draft Brook Lopez and have the best young frontcourt in the league, along with solving our backup PG problems. Plus, we'd get to see Jaric's INSANELY hot girlfriend, Adriana Lima, sitting courtside! But if we stay at #14 I'd like to see the W's draft the other Lopez. Most of the mock drafts I see have him going in the 13-20 range. They're super-talented, they're both a legit 7 feet, they fit our needs, and their rankings fit where we could draft them. Let's get one.

No, we already have Brandan Wright and Andris Biedrins. They won't be good sitting on the bench.

Theres nothing wrong with having another 7 footer and B Lopez should be a good player someday, but I wouldn't use the 3rd pick in this draft on him. His value is more in the 7- 10 range in this draft

So what about taking Robin Lopez at 14?

Drafting Robin Lopez is pretty much getting another project that will turnout to be like another Andris Biedrins. He can run the floor fluidly, hustles for the ball, gets points off put backs or pick-and-rolls, pretty good shot blocker. His offensive skills will be mediocre at best. For the 14th pick (if some of these players fall), Kevin Love, Darrell Arthur, or even Nathan Jawai (haha). Heck, I'll even throw in Russell Westbrook if he falls (and just in case we lose to contain Monta Ellis from the Grizzlies)

What would the W's offer for the #3 that Minny would want?

W's can also trade down a few spots if the target is Robin Lopez

Trade down.

I don't mind him as a player... but that's too high for him..

mmm...not bad. i like the lopez twins, but like previously stated, i don't know what we'd be able to give up that minnesota would want. and, again, if we want robin, we could trade down and get him, which i wouldn't be against.

then again, though, they both have girls names. i mean, i guess tracy mcgrady and dominique wilkins and others have gotten past that, but still. it makes you think...

I don't think we can package anything realistically to Minnesota for the #3 pick. I say we just stay with our #14 pick and draft the best player available.

I like Brook Lopez more than most people, but like Love, he's not worth trading up to #3 -#7 to get. I wouldn't give up Wright + #14 to get him (and that's what it would take to get into the to 5-7, baring a Baron trade).

Now if he slides like some people think than I would quickly take him at #14, and even offer Belinelli to try to trade up a few spots and take him if he even gets close to #14.

Quite frankly, your campaign sucks.

And I closely follow Stanford basketball.

It would be a more valid campaign if we didn't have Beans at the 5. We need a versatile 4, and more importantly we don't need to sacrifice any assets needed to climb that many spots.

Westbrook is over-rated. He's a 6th man combo G at best. Jawai is pretty much an unknown, big but far from NBA ripe. R Lopez might be a bigger Gadzuric, but I was pretty dismayed at how slow his progress was on offense. Aside from an uncontested dunk he had little offense..as in way less than POB or Foyle. That minimal aptitude on offense means his D-rebounding have to carry him. His D is good-but he is not real quick and he's a bit foul prone.

He's less ready than POB or Kosta were the day they got here. We'd be better off with Hibbert. More logically-we hope to get Alexander at 14 or we trade down.

I never understood people who like B. Lopez and didn't like Stiffert... should be peas in a pod.

If either one gets drafted before 15 its a laugh... some NBA GM will betmaybe a 10-8 player in starters minutes. What a waste.

Wow :o

I'd love to see Lopez play with one ounce of the fire Noah does... hustle on rebounds, dribble as well, midrange D... Brook Lopez is a joke of a lottery pick, whereas Noah should have gone in the top 5 or 6 of last years draft.

I'm not joking in the least.

See the post above, B. Lopez = Stiffert.
