jro, I just saw the news and was going to post it, thanks for starting a thread. Tim was a Wiz season ticketholder, right? I loved when he pulled out the Caps jersey on MTP a few months ago.

I always enjoyed watching him, and he will be missed.

Wow, this seems surreal - especially right before Father's Day - knowing how often he talked glowingly about Big Russ. I always enjoyed his show - though I admit over the last year or so, I thought his interviews were lazy, and he took too many potshots against both Democrats and Republicans. At his best, he was great, and he will be tremendously missed. Very hard to believe. RIP, Tim.

Indeed he was a season ticket holder and not one of those who rarely went either. He was there a lot of the time, even before MJ if I recall correctly.

He's one of the few political commentators/pundits I liked. He was genuinely likable, which was evident from his on air persona. He had sort of any everyman way about him and he didn't try to complicate things - he spoke to his audience.

Heard it on NPR. I'm absolutely shocked. He was one of the most unbiased, meticulous reporters and anchors out there, but most importantly, he just seemed like a nice, respected guy. Only 58 years of age, too...

This is a true loss and a very sad day. RIP, Mr. Russert.

Shocking!! His shoes will be hard to fill. Everyone tries to imitate him, but none of them came close.

This is also an opportunity to stress the importance of diet and excercise in ones life, they didn't call him Big Tim for nothin.

That sucks. Now that I am getting into politcs more and realizing a lot of politicians are douche's I am going to miss seeing him grill people.
He was very good. I remember him joking with Jim Webb about some tatoo's he got during the military. He wanted Webb to show them but he had some in certain areas that weren't going to work for TV. That was good and it was just a few weeks ago. A Washingtonian who rooted for most the teams I root for. In all acounts he seemed like a good guy.

I don't know who I'm going to watch now for election night coverage. Russert was the best. He seemed like a nice guy who tear politicians to shreads if they went on MTP unprepared. Tough, but fair, and a uncanny ability to relate to the common man.

I'm not too much into politics, but I actually watched his show on the odd occasion. NBC will have a void to fill.

A Washingtonian who rooted for most the teams I root for. In all acounts he seemed like a good guy.

Well to be technical, he was a Bills & Yankees fan. He did love the Nats & the Wiz though.

I was in NW at Sherry's Liquors (I'm a part time liquor rep) & everyone I talked to was in shock.

What a bizarre & tragic day for this city. From the widespread power outages to metro center catching on fire, to 5 metro stations shutting down to Tim Russert dying in that Nebraska Ave building he was so used to just hours after the city returned to normal after a bizarre, frustrating morning.

I'm still in shock.

It was a shock when I found it for sure. He was one of the few guys that was a Washington Wizards and a die hard Buffalo Bills fan, both my favorite two teams in basketball and football. Going to miss him on MSnbc for sure. R.i.p.
