We Haven't Won Anything Yet.

Post#1 » by return2glory » Fri Jun 13, 2008 7:39 pm

I'm glad that were are up 3-1. I'm excited as much as the next Celtic fan, if not more so. There is one more game to win. Let's not start trash talking about how the Cavs were a better than the Lakers and everything else. Just look at some of the comments in the game 2 thread after we were up 24 in the 4th quarter. There was talk of sweeping the Lakers. The Lakers pulled to within 2 points.

For now, we should be thankful that we are up 3-1 because it could easily be 2-2.

Hey man I just wanted to give you props on how positive you've been about your team but better yet the series in general. At the beginning of the series it's easy for us fans to try and guess how arrogant each others fans base was going to be.

And I think a lot of that is contributed to age if you ask me, not bashing the younger guys but it's easy to tell know what I mean.

But like they say it's wrong to prejudge someone until you've gotten to know them. So in that regard not everybody here is like I'd thought they would be. But at the same time your suppose to have confidence in your team game in and game out especially if they're of championship caliber .

So I guess over all what I'm say is that there was more guys humble here then I thought.

See you boys on Sunday, I think we have one punch left hey you never know !

I know exactly what you mean.

As for your overall post, I was reading the Laker game thread and thinking almost exactly the same thing about the Laker fans, it seems you have about the same ratio of mature hard-core fans to immature over-reacting boneheads we have. Not that we all need to hug and kiss and trade Christmas cards or anything, all the trash talking is part of the fun. Good luck on Sunday.

Thanks DEEPCL.

Humble, yes. Postive about my team, probably not.

However, I haven't been down on my team like some other people(see game 4 thread). Someone even wanted to trade Rondo, they must have forgotten he is playing hurt. But I've had concerns with our injuries, KG, and Doc Rivers. Some people here mistake concerns for being negative.

The injuries for still a problem. Also, all year I've been saying that KG is a very good player and I'm glad he is on the Celtics, but he is no MVP type player. He has proven that in this series because he disappears at times on the offensive side.

It's been a struggle for us in the playoffs with tough battles in each and every series. There is no denying that. But it has been really fun as well. We haven't seen something like this for over 20 years. So for that, I'm grateful.

Anyone who doesn't think this series is over is kidding themselves. We already won. Call me a Celtics homer all you want, but there is no way that the Lakers will win three straight, especially with two of them being in Boston. Ain't gonna happen!

People need to stop being superstitious and let everybody know what's up.

It's Over!

Just like all the Laker fans knowing that they had won game 4 after being up 58-34. That's what happens when you get cocky and relaxed.

I am reminded of the comment that Scottie pippen kept telling reporters especially during the 1995-96 when they kept asking about how he felt about winning 72 games. His comment (the bad grammar is his):

"It don't mean a thing without the ring."

He also kept saying it after the Bulls went up 3-0 in the finals. Bulls got cocky & Seattle won 2 straight before the Bulls finished them off.

At this point the Celts biggest foe is themselves
The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials.
