[Board Project] Top 20 All-Time Rockets (Spot #7) READ RULES

Post#1 » by TMU » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:49 pm

3 IMPORTANT RULES!!!
1. Members must consider former/current Rockets players only. Hence, PLEASE CONSIDER THEIR YEARS WITH THE ROCKETS ONLY!!!

2. We'll have a field of 5 candidates for each voting. Each member must vote one player from the field that is worthy to be in the Top 20 list.

3. Additionally, each member must nominate a candidate he/she feels should be added to the field for the subsequent ranking. This nomination is to replace the winner in the following vote.
(In each thread, we have a list of 5 candidates where one will be chosen as the winner. Since in every thread, we'll be voting one player off the list, it leaves only 4 candidates. Hence, the nomination is to include one player and make it a 5 candidate list for the next round.)

All former/current Rockets players are found here:

Ralph Sampson..sorry Yao, but Ralph was a solid center, and had potential to end up as one of the greatest centers of all time at 7'4. terrific scorer, rebounder, and plus he has the finals appearance, lets not forget that big shot he hit in game 5.

Robert Reid is a solid choice Max, big part of both runs to the finals in '81 and '86.

Hayes (consistency!)
Kenny Smith

p.s. Elvin played for the Rockets for 7 years, not 4, unless you're going with Houston only.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

Vote: Yao Ming (I wanted to say Sampson, but I think considering everything, Yao has done more for the franchise. Kind of unfortunate since had Sampson stayed healthy, he'd have been no lower than #3 IMO.)

Nominate: Kenny Smith

Far be it from me to question the will of the people.

BUT....

If you can't even find a picture of the guy in uniform, maybe he wasn't that important in the pantheon of Rockets basketball history.

Or...

Maybe the Rockets have a crappy pantheon.

My bad. Reason #2 makes more sense.

Carry on.
