[Board Project] Top 20 All-Time Rockets (Spot #8) READ RULES

Post#1 » by TMU » Fri Jun 13, 2008 9:04 pm

3 IMPORTANT RULES!!!
1. Members must consider former/current Rockets players only. Hence, PLEASE CONSIDER THEIR YEARS WITH THE ROCKETS ONLY!!!

2. We'll have a field of 5 candidates for each voting. Each member must vote one player from the field that is worthy to be in the Top 20 list.

3. Additionally, each member must nominate a candidate he/she feels should be added to the field for the subsequent ranking. This nomination is to replace the winner in the following vote.
(In each thread, we have a list of 5 candidates where one will be chosen as the winner. Since in every thread, we'll be voting one player off the list, it leaves only 4 candidates. Hence, the nomination is to include one player and make it a 5 candidate list for the next round.)

All former/current Rockets players are found here:

Vote : Elvin Hayes - because I count him for 6 YEARS. Don't care what you say. lalalalalala I'mnotlistening lalalalala

Nominate : Anybody but Steve Francis. Seriously, YOU pick somebody. I don't care. Just so long as it isn't Steve Francis. He was worthless then and he's worthless now.

(moofs: For the record, your justification for picking him is sound, logically. We got a ton of value by trading him. I won't argue that point. But I had to watch him disgrace the game of basketball for 5 years. And I hold a grudge. Screw logic.)

This is a tough one...Sampson, Hayes or Franchise(he was still known as that during his first stint). This a tossup for me. I think I'll regret and second guess my vote almost as soon as i press submit no matter who I pick.

I'm going to go with Hayes.

Ralph Sampson dammit! Led a team to the NBA finals, his short stint was great, and not only that but his potential was even greater, to bad it all had to fall apart

Nominate: Kenny the Jet Smith sounds good right now

Definitely hear you on that. Only reason I picked the french fries over Elvin was cause el capitan de contesto said San Diego didn't count. Otherwise I'd be a complete idiot to pick him (maybe even still for not disregarding the contest parameters and going with the better pick).

Getting to be curious when/if Elie, Kevin Kunnert, Cat, Moochie, Mike Newlin, Rodney McCray and Sleepy Floyd are going to get nominated. Hell, maybe even Slick Watts. Why not? Good to see Max throw in Allen Leavell.

(for a refresher: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Ro ... ime_roster )

I remember when the local media was pushing for us to draft Alton Ford. Features and interviews all over the place. Good times.

It's also amazing how few people we've had stick around for over 3-4 years.
Morey 2020.
