What it really comes down to...
I think what it comes down to is what we can get for Haslem...if we can get good value then i believe we will pull the trigger and take Beasley...But i feel if we cant get value for Haslem than we wont trade him for cheap and will settle with either a trade for or a straight up draft of OJ.
Now, my question is, not what you want, but what you REALISTICALLY think we can get for UUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
P.S. on a side note: I have a very nice community, on street over, right across the street from each other are U and Dooling....Connection???? I think so!

All of those guys have contracts longer than the 2010 offseason. Each player ruins our chance to get a real player in FA.
Which sparked another trade in my head.
Miami trades:
Haslem
Blount
Cook
Miami recieves:
Bibby
#48th pick
Atlanta trades:
Bibby
Atlanta receives:
Barbosa
Blount
Phoenix trades:
Barbosa
#48th pick
Phoenix recieves:
Haslem
Cook
C - Mourning / ?
PF - Beasley / Anthony
SF - Marion / Wright
SG - Wade / ?
PG - Bibby / ?
Weak ass bench for sure, but good starting lineup. More importantly, only Wade and Beasley under contract the following season. We could use our MLE and LLE as well.
09-10
Wade 15,779,912
Beasley 4,500,000
MLE 5,500,000
------------------
Total 25,779,912
Leaves us $30 million after you count cap holds. Could get a max player and re-sign Marion or Bibby, maybe both if Bibby wants 6 or so, Marion 11 and get a young guy (lower max salary)

I dont think its going to take beasley ten years to be a good player, his game is very advanced, and he has the frame to come in and contribute quickly (look what amare did in phoenix). Besides u have to be careful with that trade the future for now approach, look at houston, i'll bet they would love to have rudy gay help mcgready with the scoring load now instead of battier.

I think we need to be more patient when it comes to Haslem deals. I'm still not sure Beasley is going to be a power forward on the next level, so Haslem could still be starting at the four, while Beasley becomes an elite small forward in the league. And then the Heat can use Marion to find a PG or a C (preferably Hibbert).
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

That Jason Kidd trade is gonna bite the Dallas Mavs hard. If they'd kept the 21st pick they could be looking at a Roy Hibbert/Malik Allen froncourt.

I hope and pray that Riley does not trade the #2 pick for veteran players. I want him to keep the pick and get the Best Player Available to compliment Wade. If we really want to be in the running for a top FA in 2010, the payroll for the second pick is cheap compared to a veteran that we would get that would be a good player. If we get players to later dump to open cap space, then we are in effect trading the second pick for nothing. Also, Haslem's contract is very reasonable so I would not rush to get rid of him, as there will always be a market for him. The guy to put all effort on to move is Marion. The focus must be to move him along with future picks and cash to get another high loto pick. If we can walk away with Beasley and Mayo/Lopez, we are on our way. Put Beasley, Wade and Mayo or Lopez together and we will be an attractive destination for a top FA in 2010. Wost case, if we lose Wade in 2010, we still have a couple of young guns to build around.

With that mentality, you'll get exactly what you hoped to prevent. Riley wants to win now, because a Finals MVP like Wade needs to be competing while he's in his prime. You don't go from eating the main course one year to settling for entrees, which will happen for a few years if you don't trade for veterans. If Wade ends up getting impatient waiting for your youngs to develop, there's nothing to stop him from taking his show somewhere else in 2010.
Two moves would make Miami instant power players in the East. Give Wade both Brand and Hinrich to play alongside. Get Hinrich packaged with a surplus of talent from Chicago for your #2 and cap space killing contracts. Then piece together a deal involving Marion with all the newly aquired Bulls into a solid offer for Brand. The Clippers have thin rotations and the Bulls are going young. Now is the time for Miami to make their move if they're serious about winning with Wade.

Blah. Nothing Chicago has other than the #1 pick is going to get our #2 pick. If anything trading the #2 in a package for Brand is more realistic.

Let's draft Mayo and trade for Odom.
If we have Mayo, Wade and Odom we can create some crazy mistmatches especially if we put Odom to run the point at times.
Riley knows how to use Odom's strengths, he was a beast when he played for us and he and Wade did very well.
