Korver was traded for cap space, NOT to make room for Thad. Thad was beginning to get time before Korver was traded, and got the meat of the time at PF last year. If trading Korver wouldn't have gotten the sixers into significant cap space, he'd still likely be here, and he'd be a much better 20 mpg option off the bench the Nachbar.

If Nachbar were to come here...I would seriously hope he would get less time than that, man.....I think part of the problem with Korver was we needed him to play those minutes. We didn't have the horses to justify a one-dimensional shooter playing big minutes, and seeing the ball as early in sets as he was during bench-time

McVee stock is rising? Chad Ford in his latest column had his stock falling. Please do not let the sixers draft him, he has Patrick O Bryant written all over him.

Should we let his questionable taste in tattoos discourage us from drafting him... :D

Technically you are correct. However, it enabled Cheeks to see Young more and found out he was a player. So not technically it enabled Thad to be seen. I mean really who was going to take Korvers place, Gordon?

Thad went from playing 18 minutes to 27-30 the second that trade was made. Don't think having Young didn't play anything into this.

Actually it was a joke...He said he had Patrick O'Bryant written all over him.

On the interview Mike nad Ed talk about how hard it is to spell Speights name, but in reality, that is the player I think the 76ers want. The 76ers need to make another trade to pick up another ist round pick, so they can draft McGee. It could come from a Miller deal to Portland at 13. It can also come from later ist round pick the 76ers buy into, then landing Jason Thompson, who has now landed in the 19 spot on a recent draft board.

We need to move up in this draft. Enough of this mid round garbage.

This draft is very deep. Some of the players in the midround could actually turn out to be better picks. Players like Thompson, Ibaka and McGee could be top players given time.

At first when i read the analysis of Javal McGee, what jumped out at me was "atrocious defender". But his potential is off the charts. So at 16 and in need of a star PF, it's worth the risk.

McGee will be going through a heavy learning process in his ist NBA season, bit it will be worth the wait. Look what Bynum came from before he was injured. It was only a year ago when Kobe wanted Bynum out of town.

The 76ers are not going anywhere anyway, so we might as well pick up a 7 footer with a big upside for the future.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
