another thing, you can edit a post as many times as you want, but it doesnt show, so then people can backtrack and claim they never said anything in argument!
we must change this so they can be exposed!

Re: Welcome To The New Forum
Basically, we went from clicking 1 button to submit a post, to three button clicks. That is a major change. Given the advancement of AJAX, pages should refresh with less clicks. Hopefully this can be changed quick. Having studied GUI's, you're forcing the user to do more work.
Mods have mentioned that few "bugs" were to be fixed. What are they exactly, do they have anything to do with the layout?
Of course, to put in my 2 cents, here are my opinions:
1.) Obviously the "Quick Reply" needs to be resurrected...
2.) The quoted message needs to be distinguished from your own post.
3.) I'm not really feeling the wiretap.
4.) Don't like the fact I have to submit "twice" before my post comes up.

Re: Welcome To The New Forum
This sucks beyond belief for two reasons.
First, I've been demoted to a rookie after 7 years and over a thousand posts. I can understand different post requirements, but old time posters should be grandfathered with their previous title. I'm no rookie, I've been posting regularly on here since '01, and probably have written more words than 90% of posters.
Second, when you are writing a reply, the screen jumps around by scrolling on it's own. This must end now or we will die a quick death. Those of us who were original SportsTalk posters pre-2001 know how a great vibrant forum can die quickly when poor changes are implemented.
Please fix this garbage. Also, I haven't found the search function yet which also sucks.
Other than that it's all good.

Still a lot of bugs to work out. New navigation is cumbersome at best.

Re: Welcome To The New Forum
On Safari links like viewforum.php?f=72 work fine. On Firefox, they lose my login if I don't also have the "&sid=<insert long crap here>" part of the url. That means on Firefox I can't follow any simple links to forums or threads and remain logged in. I can't bookmark a link to the Warriors forum that will work for me across logins.
As things stand, things are really too broken to be usable for me.

Hmmm..... I use Firefox religiously, and the link worked fine for me without the session id (sid). Maybe you need to check the "keep me logged in" box when you login?

The blue type on the blue background (on the forum team pages) is a recipe for eye strain. How about black on white, or at least darker blue on white?
Also, automatic login seems glitchy.
Thanks.

Or how about letting users define their font or background preferences?

Re: Welcome To The New Forum
I'm sorry, I really don't like this new layout.
here are the pros and cons
pros:
loading faster for me
umm...*crickets*
I guess that's it.
cons:
-hard to know when it is a quote or the posters message
-no quick reply
-site looks unprofessional, like an amateur site, when I came on RealGM, it looked really sharp and I felt like I was on some professional basketball site, now I feel like i'm on a weak NBA forum.

I do check it. But it doesn't stay checked. Looking at cookies in Firefox and Safari, I appear to not be getting all of the realgm cookies I need under Firefox.

Re: Welcome To The New Forum
Interesting. Guess it will take a bit of time to get used to it. One quick problem which has probably been reported amid the gripes:
I have to sign in every time i switch to a new board. Running Firefox 2.0.0.14, and i check theboxes to memorize my password, but it asks for my login info regardless.
The 'Quick Reply' box and differentiating between quotes and message text would be very much appreciated. I like the potential for the new setup, though I grew very comfortable with the old.
ed - And why do i have to submit my mesage twice?
