Team Affiliation Tag?

Post#1 » by Next Coming » Mon Jun 9, 2008 10:55 pm

Hey don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud but can we please get a little tag under your user name or somewhere in a poster's profile that shows which team they are connected to?

Like I'm Next Coming and I'm a Raptors fan so couldn't we like have something somewhere that shows which posters support which team.

It would help in discussions. Just because people can't throw around claims like, "All Laker fans are complaining about the officiating" when in reality there are a lot of non Laker fans that think the officiating is bad.

That's the only example that's popped up in my head because it's relevant right now. LOL!

So yeah........ is this a horrible idea?

It's a good idea, but it should be optional.

I like it but I agree with Comet, should not be mandatory.

If they decided to do it, I would recommend having space for 2 or three teams, as some posters follow more than one team closely.

Yeah that or like a secondary team system. Like for example: I'm a die hard Laker fan for life, but it is also my birthright to wish goodness on the New York Knicks. Something like that.

Sounds like a decent idea to me. Only problem I can see is RealGM is more than just NBA today. If you allow two or three NBA teams, not much room for MLB, NFL and NHL teams probably.

Maybe best to just allow a max of 4 supported teams somehow. One from each if that takes your fancy etc.

But I do like the idea. I'd be happy to have just one support group or even a support city kinda deal....
