I'm fine with the change, aside from a few suggestions:

-the quotes function and the quick reply function (like everyone is saying)

-most important for me personally though - I always access the forum through the main Raptors page on RealGM. I loved how at the bottom of the page, it listed new threads on the forum page. That way, you don't need to skim through the entire forum, looking for new stuff. LOVED that feature. It doesn't seem to be updating now. I really hope that they're able to get that back online.

otherwise, keep up the great work guys!

Let's try this again (since my previous post is no where to be found)...

Is anyone else experiencing constant "screen jumping". I enter a thread to try and read it and as i scroll down, the page keeps re-posting and jumps me to another spot in the thread. I try to re-scroll down to where I was and before I can find it, it jumps to another spot. I can't just stay in the same spot on the page without it jumping all over on me.

It seems this might be linked to the "slide" thing at the top of the page. If I pause that thing, it seems to stop the sreen jumping.

Man, I do quality assurance for a living and these changes are a joke. If this was something someone was paying for, a few people would have lost their jobs by now. Aslom I love how they always says the forums will be down for like 4-6 hours and it turns into something like 24+ hours. Then they put out garbage like this...wow, I know it's free to use and all but that's really no excuse.

I agree with some others here.
1 - Quick reply is needed
2 - Quote system is impossible to read
3 - Edited post info is good to have
4 - The color scheme is difficult on the eyes (I know this is something that we will get used to)
5 - The screen jumping thing is bad - fix the "slide" ad thing since that seems to be the cause of this.
6 - The double or triple or however many times you have to hit submit. Most people won't care the a new post has come in while they were posting, so don't force them to hit submit a 2nd time so they can read new posts first. That's really, really annoying!
7 - Clicking on a link in a post takes me out this site. Clicking a link should open a new browser window, not use the existing one. I know I can right click on the link and choose "open in new window" but that's such a waste of effort.

Hmm....also, I seem to need to push "submit" twice before it will actually submit. Maybe a bug?

Everything was fine the way it was.

This hurts to look at. It's slow on my computer. It makes the whole experience here unpleasant.

This will be a big mistake unless changes are made.

The readability issues IMO are secondary to everything being some slight variation of light blue. Contrast makes it easier for the eyes to quickly scan a page and see the lines that make the font, which is rather difficult with the scheme they've chosen here. I would suggest that they darken the font a bit and maybe add a little more of a greyish tint to the background colors, or maybe simply lighten them a bit.

Otherwise, I think this new look will be an improvement (aside from the small bugs which have already been pointed out).

I'm on Firefox, and I'm not getting any speed issues thus far.

in my 7 years here, this is the worst decision RealGm has ever made.

most of us want the old layout back. you didnt have to visually change anything. the quoting sucks, the colors suck, no quick reply sucks.

im having a real hard time figuring out all the new stuff. someone tell me

Looks pretty good. Will take some getting used to, but I like it.

I actually think it's marginally faster on my computer. And the layout isn't too bad, I'll get used to it.

Quick reply and the quote system needs to be changed, but since that's been said to death, I'm sure it'll happen. The "slides" on top is pointless, you never browse on that part of the page long enough to see them go through. The older wiretap style was better and easier access.

Also I'm sad to lose posts and "RealGM" status, but that's obviously not a big deal. Other than those things, can't complain too much.

Don't mess with it if it ain't broke.

I'll get used to it eventually though like I did to the old one. The biggest bummer is no quick reply. Any chance we get it back?

Yes, they already said they are working on it as mentioned before in this thread.

Don't like it all, the old was much better. The NBA realized the synthetic ball was a bad idea and dumped it... bring back the old layout. Topics don't stand out from each other and all look the same, the other was def. easier to read.

the fact that you can't distinguish between quoted text and typed text makes this format utterly painful.

As much as i dont want to im gonna have to agree. As a professional graphic designer whoever designed this needs to refresh themselves on the basics of design. Functionality, legibility and clarity are all part of design especially for web. If they couldnt figure that out then theres a serious problem.

Guys, this is just the first part of the upgrade. There will be many things that will be worked out in the near future, all for the better. Trust me. When this is updated and polished to its finest, it will be a LOT better than it was before.

But like every upgrade, it will take some time to get used to it. Remember when RealGM decided to align everything to the left side of the page after being centered for so long? People complained for the first 2 weeks, but ever since, its been the norm and its been a part of the RealGM we all know and love now.

Just be patient. It'll provide us all with the best message board experience in no time.
