Lakers fan wanting to know...

If you all would do a deal involving Odom for Turkoglu. His contract expires but I thought his passing and rebound would help you all move Lewis back to SF, and help your rebounding a ton.

no. isnt odom older than turk anyways...odom wouldn't fit in here...he wouldn't spread the floor as well as turk does and his value is a lot higher than just lamar odom anyways...throw in vujacic and i'd think about it

It is an intriguing trade, but I wouldn't do it because Turkoglu's value is on the rise right now and it would ruin all the team chemistry we have right now. Plus Turkoglu's clutch play during the end of a big game is an intangible that Lamar Odom definitely does not have.

Odoms actually about 6 months younger. Just figured it was easier to replace Hedo then it would be to find a rebounder.

Odom would be a perfect fit with the Magic. For Hedo, Lamar would be an absolute steal!

Odom allows Lewis to slide to the 3, whilst keeping a point-forward type on the court. PLUS, Lamar's rebounding and spacing would be absolutely ideal to complement Dwight.

I could not be more positive to the Magic acquiring Lamar Odom.

I would rather do the trade with Rashard but I know the Lakers would never take on his contract. I would love to see a Odom, Hedo front court. Two of the best passing forwards in the league and Odom would provide the rebounding, defense, and passing that Rashard does not.

IMO to many Magic fans are getting caught up on everyone who plays on the floor needs to drain it from 3. I think were far to focused on the 3 ball when we have so many other aspects of the game that we need to improve on.

If I'm the Lakers I'm not sure how interested I'm in in Hedo. Hedo is better than Vlad but Hedo would not get the same opportunities in LA that he does here. Hedo the primary perimeter ball-handler. Thats not going to happen on the Lakers.

If I'm the Lakers I keep Odom. Next year he comes off the bench and plays the Toni Kukoc role. Phil Jackson can focus on playing him when he has the match-up advantage. If I trade him it has to be for a big time defensive SF that can also shoot. Battier would be perfect but Odom is really worth more than Battier. Odom for someone like Richard Jefferson or Gerald Wallace would probably be a more fair value for value trade. I wonder if those 3 teams will revisit that 3 way deal that almost sent Odom to the Nets, Wallace to the Lakers and RJ to the Cats. The Lakers may rather have RJ now and looking at the Nets board I do think they be interested in Odom for RJ.

Both players are inconsistent, but Hedo is clutch and with 3 points range. I am not sure how does lamar's rebound looks like when he plays next to Dwight but he is absolutly the ideal PF that Magic is looking for.

What about Odom + Farmar for Hedo + JJ + right of Fran?

its absolutely silly to say that odom will come off the bench next season for the lakers. There is just no possible way that odom doesnt start at the 3 spot next year next to gasol and bynum

This would be a fantastic deal for the Magic. The PG bench is instantly shored up. AND, the PF slot is locked down allowing Lewis to slide to his natural position. From there, GM SMith could give full attention to using the MLE to go after a starting SG. And Maggette would have to think twice about the MLE to play alongside Nelson, Lewis, Odom, and Howard.

But the problem is the trade is far from the CBA requirements. THe Magic would have to add Battie just for the salaries to match. Then, with Foyle opting, the Magic would have NO depth in the front court.

Sounds pity because we do not have an Air-Pat to throw in any trade from now on

i think an Odom for Hedo swap is perfectly fair and a good move for both teams. Odom gives us the play making we lose when Hedo leaves, but he also gives us rebounds and a front court presence beside Dwight. Factor in that Odom's already played with SVG before, and you know he'll fit into the system well enough. Lewis would become the proper 2nd option. Clutch shots can be handled by Lewis and Nelson, i'm happy to put the ball in their hands at the end of a game too.

So, talent wise, it's definitely fair. only thing is it depends on what direction the Magic want to go, and how hung up Otis is on rewarding players rather than building the team.

Yeah you would need to add Battie, but isn't it a lot easier to find a backup then find a starter?

I think Odom is a good player. But it wouldn't be long before you guys would be complaining that Odom disappears when you need him most. Lakers fans have been doing that for years.
