[Board Project] Top 20 All-Time Rockets (Spot #9) READ RULES

Post#1 » by TMU » Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:19 pm

3 IMPORTANT RULES!!!
1. Members must consider former/current Rockets players only. Hence, PLEASE CONSIDER THEIR YEARS WITH THE ROCKETS ONLY!!!

2. We'll have a field of 5 candidates for each voting. Each member must vote one player from the field that is worthy to be in the Top 20 list.

3. Additionally, each member must nominate a candidate he/she feels should be added to the field for the subsequent ranking. This nomination is to replace the winner in the following vote.
(In each thread, we have a list of 5 candidates where one will be chosen as the winner. Since in every thread, we'll be voting one player off the list, it leaves only 4 candidates. Hence, the nomination is to include one player and make it a 5 candidate list for the next round.)

All former/current Rockets players are found here:

Vote Hayes

Nominate Mad Max

TMU, I found you a suitbale Rorbert Reid photo and edited it into your post. I found several with him wearing number 50 and a few with 33. He wore them both for 4 years so I couldn't pick one based solely on length of time. I guess he gave up 50 to Ralph when he joined the team so I went with the 33. It says that you edited it so don't freak out and think somebody hacked your account. :P I guess that is a bug they have yet to work out...or maybe that is how it will work now, I honestly have no idea. Another mod did bring this to the attention of the higher ups so if it is something that needs to be fixed, it is already on the radar.

Thanks Vator, it looks great. Where did you get those pictures? The one I originally had was found via Google image. It was probably his only picture and I couldn't reuse it since EVIL REALGM has put a limit on image pixels. :-?

BTW, if you see any inadequacies in the thread, feel free to change the content of the thread as you wish.

I'm sorry, but one of the best rebounder's, scorers, and 50 greatest players of all time can not slide behind anyone named Steve Francis.

Elvin Hayes

nominate: Mario Elie

Kay....
you said Rockets career's right? I mean this is a Rockets thing, so San Diego counts, because if it doesn't then some of the other picks can be questionable to.
Hayes:
28 ppg, 17reb, led league in scoring rookie year
27 ppg, 16reb
28ppg, 16reb
25ppg, 14reb
2nd run with the Rockets
16, 9
12, 7
5, 3

I'm not to sure, but I think those numbers kill Francis'.

One word answer? Youth.

Otherwise, you'd be seeing names like Mike Newlin, Buck Johnson, and Rodney McCray.

Hayes (screw it, I'm going with "Rockets" over "Houston", by which note Hayes should have been picked several rounds ago. Francis can be my next pick)
Newlin ( http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... imi01.html ) (also should have been on this list earlier, oops)
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

I was only counting his second run. My bad.
