Half the threads I go into the window or w.e is too small and i have to keep clicking over to see the whole post. If that isn't happening and I'm trying to read a post, the page will move to either lower or higher then where i was reading at and it happens continuously. It gets real annoying when i have to keep finding the place where i was at.

This version of the forum is much faster for me. Scrolling up and down a page works flawlessly and fast, without any hick-ups like before. The look is fine. I embrace the change and the will to improve the board.

1. New levels for post counts.
2. I've noticed that on the Bucks board, many of the posts are cut off because the box isn't wide enough to show the rest of the text. What's up with that?
3. NO QUICK REPLY?! Disastrous.

How is that a bad thing? Suck it up, when people have 10,000 posts it's time for a change.

Take time to read the forum bugs section or even the thread before posting, it's being worked on and will be up eventually.

PEOPLE NEED TO CALM DOWN AND WAIT FOR THEM TO GET ALL OF THE KINKS AND BUGS WORKED OUT OF THE SKIN!

Most of the complaints are just in the skin, not the board, so it's all easily changed. Just chill out and let them do their jobs...

I'm a tech guy and I will give it a chance. So far two thumbs down.

I noticed that most of the mods support the change but regular posters don't

The current version of the site seems like a stripped down version of the original with features like Quick Reply and the lay out design taken away.

If you hate the new all blue look of posts and topics, I have a solution for you. I created this very simple user style, that makes the backgrounds all white. If you want you can change it to another color. Hopefully this helps some people, having trouble reading things.

The Userstyle

You need to be running firefox and the stylish or greasemonkey extension for it to work. It should also work on Opera, but I haven't tested it.

Floppymoose,

thanks for all the great feedback. I know pretty much everything that I have a problem with has been mentioned before so I'm just hoping to add weight to the common things. Grey text on a grey background fails web design principles 101. There's simply not enough value between the font and the background for a site that could have long posts. Way too much eye strain. And that funky quote yellow should be re-evaluated!

Thanks

I know there is a lot of whining going on, but one thing that really bothers me are the scrolling slot machines next to each thread title. Some boards are too busy to have a moving graphic everytime a user posts a message.

Cool, I didn't know about @-moz-document domain stuff. That's great, it will make my css modifications much safer.

BrooklynBocker, I think you have mistaken me for someone who is involved in the new look. I'm not. Rather, I've just been coming up with ways to change it, and posting those here.

don't know if its the new forums, but everytime a link is given it no longer opens a new window. Now it just takes away the forum page and goes directly to the link in the same window.

Actually, you're a mod. I thought as we barrage you, the information would work its way up to the commish! :-)

I *HATE* the new format. It's cumbersome, too flashy, too many colors, and well, it SUCKS :banghead:

Honestly, this new layout is absolutely terrible.
-No quick reply
-No General Off Topic
-The posts get cut off if they're too long
-User-info cuts into post boxes

I think the changes this site has been undergoing are extremely unecessary. It doesn't even look better. The homepage looks awful, with the sprite ads in the background. This forum layout is soo...bleh. The site is trying WAYY too hard to look more professional, the old layout was fine and the simplicity made it look clean and easy to navigate through.

This new layout does not have my support.

another glaring omission to me, the "quick pick " feature...it is a drag to pick up a thread and constantly waste time and energy clicking back to get to the page where yo started...

especially when you get to like 40-70 page threads...the 'quick pick" was genius...

Great, not only do some of my posts not even go through, but now the page is cutoff when people something longer than one line on the right side. WTF? All this change for one day? As Marc Jackson would say "youre better than that" RGM.
