Based on the players here, and on some comments I have heard I am starting to wonder if the front office is looking at

Big man with the 1st pick
trade the 2nds for a swingman.

The swingmen on this list are all mid-late round prospects. The bigs are considered Lotto.

I smell trade down(3rd to something else). and trade up.(2 2nds for something)

First on Monday, the Wolves welcome French forward Nicolas Batum, Memphis guard Chris Douglas-Roberts, Oregon guard Bryce Taylor and Virginia Tech forward Deron Washington. Minnesota's public relations staff provided information on each prospect:

Batum (Ht. 6-8, Wt. 190) averaged 12.3 points and 5.1 rebounds for LeMans this season in the French ProA League. Batum captured the attention of NBA scouts at the 2007 Nike Hoop Summit, where he led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting against a U.S. team featuring potential lottery picks Jerryd Bayless, Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, O.J. Mayo and Derrick Rose.

Douglas-Roberts (Ht. 6-7, Wt. 200) averaged 18.1 points per game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field this season while leading the Tigers to the NCAA Championship Game. He was a consensus First Team All-American this season and a finalist for the Naismith and Wooden Awards.

Taylor (Ht. 6-4, Wt, 210) finished his four-year career at Oregon as the 12th-leading scorer in school history. A career 37.0 percent shooter from behind the arc, Taylor averaged 12.8 points per game as a senior. He was also a member of Team USA in the 2004 Global Games in Dallas.

Washington (Ht. 6-7, Wt. 202) was a four-year starter at Virginia Tech, averaging 13.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a senior. He hit the game-winning shot in overtime at Virginia on Jan. 16 to give the Hokies their first road win against their in-state rivals in over 40 years.

Here is a good read on the guards.

It does look like a workout list for a team with picks circa #5 and #20, not #3, #31, and #34.

seems like these are hte players were looking to draft with a pick we traded our 2nds for. mid 20s picks.

so we draft lopez/love with the 3, CDR or batum with the 20

foye/telfair
CDR/mccants
Brewer/gomes
Al
Lopez/love

thats dope! haha

If we're getting Love/Lopez, we better be trading down.

You look at everyone. All of your options. So that you do not show your hand, but also incase you see something that you did not project. Remember, we brought KG in just to try and attempt another team earlier to draft him so that Wallace or McDyess would fall. During that workout we fell for him big time and saw something we previously did not see.

Not saying KG is in this draft, or that Love=KG. Just that you see the player in a new way when you bring him in.

DX is reporting Gallinari will workout here this week.

PioneerPress reporting Budinger will workout Wednesday.

That is quite nice to hear on Gallinari. There was some speculation that he only wanted a team from the NY area. I am not saying he will be our guy, heck the mocks are all over the place now on him and others, but it is good to not be getting snubbed (figured he would work out with our draft slot). I wouldn't be suprised if it isn't a private one though, can't see him wanting to go against competition right now since it may only hurt his stock. Would be even more interesting if it were otherwise.

Didnt Budinger go back to arizona?

http://www.canishoopus.com/2008/6/16/55 ... e-workouts

Sounds like a man crush on CDR.

If the "Gallinari only wants NY and NJ" rumors are true, than why would he work out here?

I'm becoming more and more convinced we are working to trade down. Taking another look at Lopez is no pleasure cruise, and I assume there is a legit purpose for us to check him out a second time.

If we DO take Mayo, we have to discuss potential deals that would include McCants and possibly our two second rounders in effort to move up in the 1st round (Gallinari). I think it's pretty clear the brass is not sold on Shad as a long-term solution at SG, especially with Mayo expected to be on the board at #3. Mayo is as good offensivelyin several facets, has more size, and a better on-the-ball defender.

I'd love to trade for Bogut/#8, but I don't see Milwaukee dealing their starting Center in this type of situation. Nonethless, I think I need to write this rumor off and move on.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

Dewey, The mil rumor has serious legs. Seems pretty legit right now. As a plan B of course.

Where did it say Lopez was coming again? (including? but I think his name would be mentioned)

Here is a nice take

I also read that Buddinger is returning to AZ. Though we probably had little interest in drafting him, that is one less prospect meaning one more prospect we may have been looking at for late first early second will be picked before we select.

A second note, if we were to trade back for Bogut and pick, that clears up our need at 4/5; who do we draft then? What becomes our biggest position of need or who is the BPA at #8?

Word is his doing awesome in workouts. He won't last to 31. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go as high as 20 to the Nuggets. A lot of people have him 22 to Orlando. 27 to the Hornets is probably his floor, he'd be great there imo.
