really? did you watch the Lakers-Spurs series? the Hornets and Suns both beat the Spurs team that didn't show up against the Lakers! The Spurs were done after stealing their series from the Hornets.

Kobe pulled a 2006 Dirk!
KG deserved the finals MVP tho, he led the team in scoring and rebounding thru-out the series, along with exellent defense.

It's just supposed to go to the player who did the best overall job thru-out the series, which was KG.

Did you even watch the series. The MVP was easily Pierce. He played good D on Kobe all series. Averaged 21.8 points to KG's 18.2. Imagine if Pierce's injury in game 1 had been serious would the celtics have won the series. No way.

Having said that, however, the Lakers still had a much better season than we did, so it's not like we have bragging rights or anything.
And I still don't buy this "if you don't win, everything else is irrelevant" BS. Absolutely it makes a difference that the Lackers got walloped in the biggest clinching blowout in NBA history. That's a lot worse and less impressive than if they'd gone down in a tough battle, and barely come up short. Going out with so little heart in such a gutless fashion will probably taint this (otherwise excellent) season for the Lakers' fans quite a bit. Think back on the 05-06 season (when Amare was out). We didn't win the championship, but does remembering that year leave a sour taste in your mouth? Of course not. Because that was a team to be proud of -- they scratched and clawed and got farther than anyone expected. And when they finally did lose, they went down fighting, and Dallas needed everything they had to win. I'd take that over this year's piss-poor effort any day.
And absolutely it makes a difference how far you go in the playoffs. News flash: Winning a playoff series is better than losing it. Winning two playoff series is better than winning just one. Winning three is even better, and of course, winning four is the best of all. Think back to how you felt when the Suns beat the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Lakers, Clippers, and Lakers again. It was pretty good, wasn't it? You got the joy of knowing that your team's season was still going on, even though almost everyone else's wasn't. That joy means nothing? I call BS. "Oh sure, we had mind-blowing sex, but she didn't get pregnant, so who cares?" You think you'd feel the same now if the Suns had missed the playoffs the last 4 years instead of what actually happened? That's ridiculous.

Amare for KG
KT+Picks for Gasol
and then if Marion still wants out, do the Shaq trade and start KG at the 3.
Nash
Bell
KG
Gasol
Shaq
Sigh.
