'04 Lakers, '06 Mavs, '08 Lakers

Post#1 » by Donald Kaufman » Wed Jun 18, 2008 3:22 am

Why do they overachieve to beat us, yet choke it up when it counts?

I'm not saying we could've beaten the Celtics this year, but I would've at least liked the opportunity.

What a waste.

I guess it's some kind of consolation for losing in every even year..

Cause most teams blow their wad when they beat us in the playoffs. They think it's a sure thing to win the chip.

wasn't expecting any different..it's the finals..

so would our defense on Kobe have been more successful had we packed it in like Boston? our individual defenders aren't even close to them(considering we play Finley, Parker, Ginobili and Oberto), but would it have been the better strategy than the one Pop used?..

I was thinking the exact same thing. They felt like beating us was the hardest part.

Nice subject but it's all wrong. The Lakers have beaten the Spurs in 01 and 02 and still won the title on top of it. It's all about match ups when it comes to the Finals, we just didn't match well with the Celtics. But that was just one hole of many that broke open, I'm a realist we just wasn't good during the Finals.

Ever since we beat you in 03... you have never won... you got it all wrong.

Good to see you post and share your thoughts some, DEEP. Didn't see you around during the finals, though.

The playoffs are such a sensitive time for these boards it just would've been wrong to continue to post on a teams board after the series is over with that team.

Seems like it would be gloating, even though that's not me I just discuss basketball and try to keep it to the facts.
