First get rid of Nelly as couch, trade: Baron, Pietrus, and Harrington. Then they need to grab Yi Jianlian, Love, and Jeff Van Gundy, and play Wright and Belinelli every game! Finally, you can thank me when they are the Champions in 2010.

Why get rid of Pietrus? He is a better player than Yi, and better player than Love. Also having Baron is better than not having him, as you lose 20 ppg, and having Harrington will make it easier on Ellis because Harrington can spread the floor which won't clog up Ellis' driving lanes.

Sign as many of the current players as possible. Sign Kurt Thomas. Sign a 8 minute a game up-tempo point guard like Dee Brown who's job it would be to wake the Warriors up when they get sleepy and stop running and pressing.

Keep playing small ball with or without Nellie.

My goal is to just capture the 7th or 8th playoff spot to continue erasing the Warriors image as losers in the minds of potential Free Agents a few years from now.

I don't want to rebuild yet. Trading or not signing Baron Davis means rebuilding now. We have two good young players in Monta and Andris but the Warriors young core is not as good as the young core in New Orleans, Utah and probably Portland. The mid Career group in L.A. is also two good. I see no way to pass them by 2010 except by signing a prime free agent or pulling off a miracle deal like L.A getting Gasol and Boston getting Garnet and Allen.

Wright looks promising but it is not yet clear what he can be. Belinelli may be nothing more than POB and Pietrus. We probably won't get much of anything at 14.

If we do unload Baron, Jackson and Harrington then we might as well also unload Monta and Andris for draft picks and really start over and try to build from the draft for a championship in 2015.

Afroanglo, your opinions are wild and off the wall!

But, you do make some good points. But why Van Gundy? I don't think he's a good small ball coach. I say go to ORIGINAL small ball coach...

oh yeah..my avatar has BALLS!

Yi? I doubt he's worth what it costs to get him.
What we can get at 14....or what we can make of 14 SHOULD amount to something but our weak record when it comes to making picks pay is why we can hardly look beyond 8 seed.
next coach? I'd pursue Bob Huggins. His "smallball" is about guys who play big,are tough.

I'm okay with trading Jax or Harrington if we get good value. Generally..don't want to get to excessive with the revolving door. In that regard it's probably pre-mature to deal Baron now.

hey...isn't Van Gundy from Martinez? being that's my hometown as well, that'd be the only reason I'd want Van Gundy as coach. He never impressed me greatly as a coach, and he definitely doesn't impress me as a telecaster. maybe i don't get his style. is he trying to be funny? maybe his humor is too dry for me, although mine's been known to be pretty dry itself. he seems like a nice enough guy, but doesn't seem too inspiring or special as a coach.

We need Marion and send Davis to Miami. Baron is going to be a pain to deal with and he wants a big contract. Marion's defense is what this team needs if they ever want to compete in the west. Wright and Belinelli need some time before they can help and I am not sold on either of them being any good in the near future.

But you just said Monta's not a PG.

BTW, Marion not only wants a big contract but to be a featured part of the offense despite the fact that he's about as offensively gifted as Ron Artest.

Neither of them is what this team needs... this team needs a veteran leader who knows how to play the game right, a coach that plays young players and teaches defensive fundamentals, and a new philosophy. Getting Marion does nothing for any of that - it only addresses rebounding while leaving us w/Monta and _______ @ PG.

The reason we need Marion is because we play no defense. If this team really wants to be a threat and go deep into the playoffs we have to change our defensive style and attitude. Plus Marion can score and runs the floor. His biggest weakness on offense are those ugly looking three's he takes. Ellis is not a PG and yes we would need a new PG. If this team really wanted to win we should get Marion and sign Arenas. Arenas, Ellis, Jackson, Marion and Andris. I can tell you that Cohan won't spend the $$, so this team will go nowhere.

If we were to trade Baron to get Marion how would we sign Arenas? Baron is the only likely vehicle to get us either of those two players if we wanted them.

What the Warriors really need is to resign Mikael Pietrus.

Well, I like the Warriors, and if Mikael Pietrus doesn't sign a new contract to us, we will be in trouble unless we find a better player than him that can have impact off the bench. Mikael Pietrus is everything of that, and we need him for our playoff run if we are going to make it.

What do you mean? He played great. We didn't have it this year, because Pietrus was playing at the 4 instead of the 3 which he thrives in. We could of made it if it wasn't for Jackson's consistantly having 4 for 21 games where he can't buy a basket to save his life.

As I recall we missed by a smidge and your boy missed the most important part, the final stretch. but he did get in his good free agent look before his hang-nail took him out of action.

Injuries happen. Nobody can be injury free in basketball, unless they are really careful and don't play at their 100%. Just look at Baron Davis, He was injury free this season because he didn't drive the ball to the basket as much, and settled for jump shots. He doesn't play up to his potential, reason why he was labeled by many of us as a chucker.
