Rose could develop like Billups and Nash; slowly out of the gate, but become a real star from Mid-career.

Beasley could be the next Odom, or the next K-mart. Good solid PFs. But as he's undersized, and not particularly powerful, Beasley does not look to be an absolutely dominant PF.

Whilst the Magic could use Beasley more than Rose, a team always must tab BPA. That looks to be Rose this year.

(In the end, I suspect that neither Rose nor Beasley will emerge as this draft's best player. Both are simply sure NBA prospects.

Beasley is nothing like Kmart or Odom. Really Beasley reminds me of a young in shape Charles Barkley. Barkley was a undersized young kind of SF/PF that could go in the post or go outside. They have similar personalities.

I'm not sure why people always say Beasley is Best player available. Do they realize that Beasley averaged 26 and 13 in 31 minutes. Durant last year played a lot more minutes to get those numbers. Beasley playing Durant minutes his numbers translate to nearly 30 and 15. Thats a freshman putting up some of the biggest numbers ever. Before the tournament Beasley was pretty much a lock for number one. Many thought Rose was closer to Bayless and Mayo but Beasley was on a different level.

Funny that you mention this, because this is the exact comparison that always came to mind for me, yet I don't recall having ever heard others make this same comparison.

a Beasley/Dwight combo is just powerful and just pwns bigtime.

It is difficult to argue that Beasley would have an immediate impact on the Magic roster.

Hedo to Miami for their #2.

I've seen Rose play numerous times, and he would definitely be my choice.

Both players have a "can't miss" factor, as well as a "big bust" one too.

I think Beasley will be a terrific scorer, but Rose has the potential to be a bigger impact player if he fulfills his upside.

I don't see much bust factor with Beasley. Unless he has injuries this kid is one of the biggest 20 and 10 locks there has ever come into the draft.

Rose on the other hand has bigger bust factor because he will be asked to do things he has not done. Memphis is not a pro like offense. He was not asked to run pick-n-roll. He really didn't run a lot of true sets at Memphis. He was not a real dynamic passer and made a lot of turnovers. Really people are asking Rose to become a better pro than he was in college because of his physical gifts. While Beasley just needs to keep doing what he did in college.

Beasley's size may be a factor. (I doubt it though).

His height is listed all over the place, and he's actually 6'8.

Still, I agree he will be a good stat guy in the league like Brand, Boozer, etc.

Rose may present the greater risk, but I think he can become an impacting PG in the NBA.

IMO PG is the 2nd most important position . Rose has the potential to be an all star caliber player so I would take him. We already have the all star big man

Here's Beasley next to Coach Del Negro

I'd trade the pick still. Trade it to, I don't know, Minnesota for Al Jefferson or their pick (as long as its still number 3 [I doubt Minnesota would trade Jefferson]). And, if you do get a top 3 pick back, I'd draft OJ Mayo.

I would trade it to Minny for Gomes and/or Telfair/Smith + #3 pick.....I would draft Mayo.

Or.

I would trade it to NY for David Lee and/or Nate/Collins + #6 pick.....I would draft Gordon.

Yeah I'd somehow try to get Mayo.. but out of those I guess Beasley. I like Rose though, just not sure of the impact right away.

The way I look at it right now we have a superstar foward/center and two near all star level wings - I dont think we need to bolster that front court - just find a good support PF - we dont really need that much more talent there [ofcourse I'd never turn it down] but in our backcourt we basically run with a fine PG - but really needs a better SG beside him - but I'd look to get a great PG and then once again that position beside him wouldnt be so important.

Just personal preference - and Jameer as a 6th man spark - think we'd be better off for it [thats if Rose does come out as a legit starter]

To those of you who dont want Rose, your all crazy. He is a can't Miss prospect. He is exactly what we need, and he can play defense. I would take him in a heartbeat over a immature Beasly.

I wold take Russel Westbrook over Beasly. Thats how important the PG position is in the NBA. The only dominant power foward to win a ring in recent memory is KG, and it wasn't really him( Defense and Paul Pierce). This is a center and PG dominated league as far as rings.

And please don't say Duncan because he is not a PF, he's a center.

Duncan is a PF. The guy playing next to him is a C. I never understood the Duncan should be labeled C comments. Duncan can play C and can play PF. If Dwight played next to a C then call him a PF. Shaq is a Center. Yao is a center. Deke is a center. Duncan is a PF/C capable of playing either position.

Your nuts if your taking Westbrook over Beasley. Lots of Pfs have won nba titles. Not many have won it as the teams best player. He would not be the best player on Orlando however. Same thing can be said about Rose. Fact is if Pg is so important then why all the great Pgs have no titles. Isiah Thomas is the only small guard to win the title as clearly its team best player. Pretty much only great centers have meant future titles.
