Offseason Shaq thread

Post#1 » by eastsidecrossover » Thu Jun 19, 2008 8:28 pm

I wanted to know if anyone have heard what he is doing this summer? Since he pointed to his finger, and said he is going to bring a championship to the desert, I want to know what efforts he is making this offseason to get more in shape, a little lighter on his toes.

I don't want him to kill himself, but mix in a diet, some good cardo and get down to 300 or less........if that is possible. I just wonder how committed he is to win it all and come to camp in shape.

He is helping Orlando residents avoid foreclosure on their houses by providing financial assistance in select communities.

He rented a house with a sport court that includes a basketball hoop.

I think he will come to camp in great shape; he knows he doesn't have much longer to win another Championship and he wants to prove the critics wrong who have said the trade was a mistake.

His conditioning was never a problem coming into this season; even Pat Riley said he showed up in great shape and "killed" his conditioning test.

It was just the critics who kept saying he was out of shape in Miami and the ones who blamed him for everything when he actually showed up in great shape.

Plus, Phoenix has the best medical staff in the NBA, so I am hopeful he will have a solid season next year.

I hope he drops some weight and plays at 315 pounds next year.

However, I was a little concerned from what I saw in the San Antonio series from him; he had no lift and Duncan completely shut him down.

Other than that, I haven't heard too much about him this off-season other than renting that house with a basketball hoop.

It may be a little unrealistic, but I would like to see him around 300 lbs. He needs to lose that weight to be a little lighter on his feet. Plus, that weight will continue to attribute to his injuries if he does not slim down a bit. I know, 300 lbs is not really sliming down, but for him it is, and will be better for him this next year. I just hope he is really motivated to come in shape, less weight and feeling good. I think Porter will not over play him either.
