With the emergence of MMA as a world wide phenomena, and it's huge popularity wouldn't adding MMA to the Olympics only make sense?
It would quickly become one of the more popular events, and already has a some countries that have become powerhouse countries for the profession.
Whats peoples opinions on this? What kind of format could they use? etc.

I think it would be awsome, but I just cant see it happening anytime soon. What I have heard is that they are talking about adding Submission Grappling as a Olympic event. Not quite MMA but it would be dope to watch.

It's nowhere near developed enough. There's virtually no amateur programs at all, for one thing.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

It would really destroy beautiful sports like judo, free-style wrestling, g-c wrestling, etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pankration
Pankration (from which the Japanese Pancrase organization derived its name) was once an Olympic sport and could possibly become one again someday. Maybe once completely codified MMA rules and bylaws are organized, you will begin to see a push for the Pankration to be included again but until then, probably not. I'm sure there would be some sort of rules and stipulations that might make it different than typical MMA (like maybe no kicking or elbows or something of that nature) but it certainly could emerge as a sport later on down the road. mahalo

Point being? I don't know where you come from bub but ushering a young man into adulthood is a pretty demanding cardiovascular activity. mahalo
