If they are healthy, they are a very solid team. But this is risky. Wade, Marion, and Brand are injury prone. That could end up being a disaster (which could be good for us).

The pick next year is pretty heavily protected to

I figured it gives Minny two established bigs in Jefferson & Kaman and they will still probably be able to draft Love or Lopez at #7, giving them a solid young core of bigs. Thoughts?

I would do this in a heartbeat. With the #7 MN can pickup a 3/2 and slide brewer to the 2.

Kaman
Al
(Randolph,Gallinari,Alexander,Greene, maybe Batum at the 2 and leave brew at 3)
Brewer
Foye

Personally I'd try to swing Kaman to Mem for the 5 + Collins + x and take Love....

Al
Love (#5)
Randolph (#7) or Gallinari\Alexander
Brewer
Foye

Maintains cap space too. Sick.

Top ten, which is fine by me. With those three guys, a disaster to me is 9th-10th place in the east. Which would make them flirt with the 11th pick.

This is an excellent point, and one I hadn't thought about.

I've been giving the MIA/LAC/MIN situation a lot more thought, but I think since its kind of a long post and steers the discussion a bit off topic, I'll start a new thread.

We won't trade McCants this year I don't think. Rev, you need to get some inside info on McCants, cause I can't stand all the hate on the kid. I wove McCants.

I don't like players who don't play defense. I don't like young players who don't seem to work on their weaknesses. I don't really understand the McCants wove.

McCants' problems are fixable. Off-season is a better time to work towards your weaknesses. In-season you should stay with your strengths and be productive. Now that's not always a good rule, but it makes sense most of the time.

His offensive skill is well worth the growing pains. Would you argue that McCants is not capable of playing defense? Cause then I'll understand ur hate, but I would strongly disagree.

But does Mccants accept potentially being a 6th man? I think he'd be an excellent 6th man, as we'd always have a scorer on the floor.

A Mayo-Foye-Mccants trio of guards would be nice.

When McCants stayed in the game, he was very productive, and over the course of the season, his assists and rebounding numbers went up, and he became more of a team player.

The only things standing in his way to becoming a great player are his maturity and ability to stay on the floor(Fouls, health). He has all the tools to become a great guard.

Incapable? No. But he didn't improve at it throughout last season.

It'a all about effort...and for McCants his effort is all on the offensive end.

I would like to see them keep him as a 6th man, but if they can use him to get another 1st round pick...do it!

It depends on who you talk to. They are divided on it. My understanding is regardless of who we draft we will not throw Shad away, but there is a chance that we would move him for a better fit/piece. Not anything against him, but because he is one of the better pieces we have that we would be willing to move (foye/brew/Al are likely not moving)
