There's a system to learn? News to me.

Pretty candid and upbeat. Also fairly clear that Mario, Solomon, and Jeremy don't figure in his plans unless they impress him more in the future. He spoke several times about the team being 8 deep. That would be the starting 5 + Childress, Zaza, and Acie.

About what you'd expect. You could tell Bibby was making a lot of mistakes because he just didn't know the offense. That doesn't excuse him forgetting how to hit a jump shot, but it was obvious at times that he just wasn't on the same wavelength as other guys.

No surprise to hear our top 8 should return intact next year, and then after that it will be interesting. The thing is, we could conceivably keep everyone on our team right now and still have two roster spots open (and three if Speedy retires). I would like to keep J-Rich and Rio and see what they can become next year, and also get some veterans to come off the bench and bring some leadership.

What makes you think Woody will have more use for Rio, Rich and Solo this season? Seems like an upgrade at #9-12 is much more important to the teams success than signing those guys.

At least sign David Andersen so that we are a NBA eight deep team.

To answer the Andersen question, I don't think the $$ is going to be there for him to come over. I don't know other than the $$ that if preventing him for giving this team a shot. I have read that he really has a good lifestyle in place where he is now. I just don't hear any comments that tells us he is part of the picture here.
As for Speedy, I think he has the opportunity to help this team by either retiring quickly or gutting it out as a reserve to see how his knees hold up. Its a bad situation to be in, but I don't see Woody bringing in another vet PG anyway with Bibby and Acie here.
Now, if anyone thinks that a vet that can provide some good numbers is going to come here and sit behind our starting interior........I just don't see it happening. We need to be talking about how can we improve our starting 5. Woody sounds content with the first 8 we have, then expect vets to come in here and accept his inconsistent rotational ways.
If we see 2 changes to the first 9 players, I will be shocked. I don't think we have a lot to offer other teams unless we trade one of our top 6. We will have Chills coming off the bench at $7-8M/year already and I think that Acie can come in for 10-15 min and provide that spark the bench needs to provide. That gives us 2 off the bench. And as Woody stated, we probably aren't going to be bringing in more youth to this roster. Didn't I hear Woody say we have okay talent on this roster, yet he wants to fill out a roster behind our front 8?
I can only hope someone falls in our lap and just wants a new environment to excel in. When you publicly state that the front 8 is solid here, what does that tell any vet who is considering coming here to play for us?
We wait for July 1 to see if we have to match any offers for the Joshes, then get a late vet who isn't highly sought after by other teams. We won't be on the frontline improving this team. It is going to take a matching offer for us to act with any urgency to sign the Joshes. This is simply how the ASG works. They don't have a quick decision in their entourage.
