Re: The Offseason Thread (trade ideas, articles, news etc.)
How bout something like Hedo, #22 and possibly a future 1st for Prince, Maxiell?
PG-Jameer
SG-Prince, Evans
SF-Shard, Bogans
PF-Maxiell, Cook
C-Dwight, Battie, Gortat
That's without us trying to get a 2nd, maybe throw in JJ or something else in to try to get their #29 this year, so we can get a guy like Chalmers(or possibly CDR/Lee if they are still available).

Re: The Offseason Thread (trade ideas, articles, news etc.)
Last I checked the Magic spent a gazillion dollars on a SF,so I really don't think they need to trade for one. While some of the bigger SGs can play SF,very few SFs can play SG. If the Magic are going to trade Hedo they should get at least a starting PF or SG.
But I doubt Hedo's going anywhere until Magic feel Nelson can run the offense at a consistant high level,or they find another playmaker.

A trade that I'd pursue with vigor is an AK-47 for Hedo (plus filler for salary match-ups) trade. Having Kirilenko on our team at PF will help out immensely.

the reported trade of Jameer and Hedo for Felton and Wallace wouldnt work anyway, isn't Meer BYC?
Charlotte (I think) will be under the cap, so it would work. I think. Not totally sure

why not Prince? Just because we have Rashard Lewis does not mean we can't go out and trade a SF for another SF. I would take Prince over AK47 in a sec....for one Prince is more durable, two international players are to soft and it is proven time and again in the playoffs just look at Dirk and Gasol this year, plus look at Turk he was horriable in the playoffs. Prince is a proven winner and CAN PLAY D, let me say that again...HE CAN PLAY D....the Magic need a player like that badly...He cover point gurds whitch means he can play the 2 for the Magic. If they somehow make a trade say Prince for Turk and Redick, draft C. Lee or CDR, Sign a vet pt guard on the cheap and then use the MLE on Turiuf or Landry then the Magic could look like this.
C- Howard-Battie-Gortat
Pf-Turiaf/Landry-Cook-J. Augustine
Sf-R.Lewis-This would be Prince
SG-Prince-C.Lee-Bogans
Pg-Nelson-J.Williams
C- Howard-Battie-Gortat
Pf-Turiaf/Landry-Cook-J. Augustine
Sf-R.Lewis-This would be Prince
SG-Prince-C.Lee-Bogans
Pg-Nelson-J.Williams

AK-47 is a power forward. Prince is not.

I really cant see the Pistons dealing Prince - of all their starters he's the only one in his prime - or nearing it - the others are either past it or coming down from the prime.
Also you gotta remember that around draft / FA / trade time you hear alot of opinions and proposals that get past off as "actually might be on the cards", especially when it comes to tradable players.

I really would like to see the Magic go after Prince. This guy is very underrated and I do think he could play SG better than Hedo and it would still leave our roster very versatile. If we acquire Prince for Hedo, draft Lee or CDR to play backup SG and use the MLE to get another big, I think that is an outstanding offseason. I think Prince also has more years on his contract and he is younger with a lot more playoff experience.

I don't know why people want prince on SG. This guy is a SF. Like Strictly an SF.

Because all of AK's best statistical seasons have come with him playing PF. He looks completely out of sorts as a small forward, and most of the disadvantages that he creates are neutralized in that position. Prince, on the other hand, does not have the ball-handling to be a SG, and it would be a disaster to play him in that position.
The cases are perfectly opposite to one another.

In my opinion, Tayshaun is actually a pretty darn good ball-handler.
I really don't know if I buy all of this Tayshaun on the block talk anyhow. Personally, I don't know why in the heck they'd want to trade him. If I were Detroit and I were going to blow it up, he'd be one of the main pieces that I didn't want to trade along with Stuckey, Maxiell, Johnson, and Afflalo.
